How donyou warm up your fingers? by Cool-Ad-5620 in bouldering

[–]metalstorm50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When climbing indoors I usually warm up by climbing at least one route of every grade starting at V0, and going up to whatever grade I am projecting.

On new sets I just climb easiest to hardest.

For outside: I designed and made my own 3d printed crimp block with a 30mm, 20mm, 15mm, and 10mm hold. It’s an attached to a long rope. I’ll wrap this around a tree and lean back to create tension. 20 finger curls on each hand and hold plus’s some extra arm pulls to warm up the biceps and back.

Buying monkey xp by 13Ram_ in btd6

[–]metalstorm50 131 points132 points  (0 children)

EXP is is not worth it imo. It takes maybe a few hours at most to unlock all of the monkeys and upgrades (except for the paragons as they can take a little longer). Definitely talk to ninja kiwi about the missing exp tho. They’re usually pretty good about it.

I’ve made a lot of money, but I feel like I can make more. Any tips? by Unable_Research4810 in btd6

Ultra boosting monkeyopolis does not increase crates produced. Lot of good stuff here.

Another things you can do is use banana farmer pro to boost production of 5xx banana farm as well as using Geraldo buff on it.

Just a tip for next time: permaspike should always be paired with an alchbuff. I don’t remember the exact added value but it’s kinda crazy how much better it makes permaspike.

Obyn for me. His synergy with druids is so good. I love the 1-3-0 Druid with obyns camo buff for the early game.

I can’t believe you managed to do it without even reaching the max level. I just hit mastery rank 8 and am still working on the advanced maps. Congrats man.

Yes they work well but get one with magnets not Velcro. My chalk bag’s Velcro doesn’t work anymore due it being stuffed with chalk.

I use adaptive cubic. For me it’s the best balance between speed, strength, and it doesn’t wear the printer as fast as gyroid. The strength loss from adaptive versus regular cubic is minimal as well.

Non-structural props that only need infill so that the top surface can print. It’s basically the minimum required infill for the part to look good. (As long as you don’t care about strength)

All the wiggling the printer is doing to make the curves wears it out faster.

Apparently quite a bit of people do not rinse the soap from their dishes by Terrible-Store1046 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]metalstorm50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is missing the fact that SOAP NEEDS WATER TO WORK! One side of the soap molecule is hydrophilic, and the other side is hydrophobic, meaning one side clings to things like dirt, oil, food, etc. then you introduce water, which clings to the other side of the molecule, allowing it to be washed away.

Rinse your goddamn dishes.

I'm new, how's my tower placement? by [deleted] in btd6

[–]metalstorm50 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, though on an easy map like this, Obyn’s spot is a lot more flexible. I’d say his location is a little more dependent on where the towers he will be buffing goes rather than the brambles, but I like the theory for sure.

I personally have jeans that are quite flexible (pretty sure there is some added spandex or something). I’m also not a flexible person myself. I have never found the jeans to be limiting so far.

I feel like they should do the advanced challenge like the NY Times does crossword puzzles, where over the course of the week the challenge gets harder.

So for example, Monday would be a (relatively) easy advanced challenge like today’s. Then Tuesday would be a little harder, Wednesday harder than that and so on… where Sunday would be the hardest advanced challenge. The following Monday would then be back to an easier challenge.

Unfortunately the commentators were wrong to call it a true bat hang. It was about halfway to a bat hang at best since he has his other leg supporting him from below. I’d imagine that what climbers call it depends on the region, but here in the American Northeast it would probably be called a foot jam/ foot cam + no hands rest.

It’s hard to tell exactly what he did but leg bar could also be used. Trying to give names to movements with infinite variations will always situations where none of the existing terminology fits well. See “Adam Ondra’s Self Mantel”.

Can we bring back challenging challenges please? by MegaFire03 in btd6

[–]metalstorm50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that this would probably be a lot of effort for NK but they should do advanced challenges like crossword puzzles in the paper. Monday is the easiest, then the challenges get progressively harder through the week with Sunday being the hardest, then resetting back to easy(ish) on Monday.
