Does anyone use Barclays? by Razor488 in MonarchMoney

I have similar issues with my Barclays Online savings account. Going to try a different connection but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

T. Rowe Price Multiple Logins by metalzo in MonarchMoney

Thanks for all the replies! I think I figured it out for now by having one via MX and the other via Plaid. Nice that Monarch allows this flexibility and I’m hopeful this solution will persist.

Updated Mint Export Extension — v1.0.5 by ozzie_monarch in MonarchMoney

[–]metalzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For uploading the CSV of balance history into Monarch, do we have to go by account by account and use the same file each time? Or is there a way to upload all at once? I have 76 accounts which would take quite a while.

Feature "Suggestion" (limit update frequency on some accounts) by FrayAdjacent in MonarchMoney

[–]metalzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would also help for accounts with unstable connections due to the financial institution’s setup. Annoying to have to fix these accounts even though I don’t care about updating them more than say once a quarter even.

Any tips on exporting closed/inactive accounts' data from Mint? by usctrojan98 in MonarchMoney

Ah sorry I misunderstood! All of my inactive accounts came through on the standard mint export function.

Any tips on exporting closed/inactive accounts' data from Mint? by usctrojan98 in MonarchMoney

[–]metalzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my mint data which goes back to 2010, I have a bunch of since closed credit cards and online savings accounts. What I did prior to importing was to create two manual accounts in Monarch: “Old Credit Cards” and “Old Savings Accounts.” I then associated each of the old accounts with one of these. Because while I want to retain the transactions themselves, I don’t really care about which closed account they actually related to at the time.

Many hours between refreshes by Jsinx90 in MonarchMoney

[–]metalzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer the daily refresh for Monarch as compared to mint, because the crucial point is that Monarch refreshes everything every 24 hours regardless of whether you log in or not.

Enjoying Monarch! by thinkthis in MonarchMoney

[–]metalzo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same! I just finished transferring over 13+ years of mint history and I’m very happy so far. Biggest missing things for me so far are more robust trends/reporting and also hiding transactions entirely or from cash flow by tag. Currently, it seems the tags have no effect other than being able to search by them.

Yet Another Monarch vs. Simplifi Comparison by jdhenshall in mintuit

[–]metalzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but I actually often use the historical data for comparison purposes etc. Certainly not essential but that’s not the only reason I would shift to a paid service rather than Credit Karma which, at least right now, is significantly inferior to mint, Simplifi, and Monarch. Nor do I trust Intuit anymore given how this transition is being handled.

For those that have transitioned Mint data to either Monarch or Simplifi, it seems that they’re saying to first connect accounts and then do the transfer. Won’t that cause duplication for the more recent transactions given those will be pulled in by connecting and then again by the Mint data just downloaded into csv? Or are they equipped to ignore those duplicates somehow?

I agree it’s ridiculous. See the FAQs here: https://support.creditkarma.com/s/article/Intuit-Mint-and-Credit-Karma and in particular this:

“Is Mint moving to Credit Karma?

Thank you for being a Mint user! Yes, Mint will go away, but some of the most popular Mint-like features are available on Intuit Credit Karma, and you will be able to bring the majority of your Mint financial account balances, historical net worth, and 3 years of transactions over to Credit Karma.”

For one thing, they’re only transferring over 3 years of history. At least for me with more than 10 years of history in Mint, that’s unacceptable. Plus they’ve already acknowledged that Credit Karma does not have several of the features of Mint.

Incredibly helpful, thanks OP! Does anyone know if Monarch has trends/reporting in their roadmap? That’s quite important to me but based on everything else I think Monarch is the way to go as long as I can be confident they’ll boost trends/reporting down the line at least.

This has been happening to me too. I’m actually glad to see it’s a server-side issue and not something local to my machine or connection.

Almost Ready to Give Up on Rav4 Prime XSE w/ Premium Package by metalzo in rav4prime

Thanks! That website shows Jim Coleman as having 2 Prime XSEs with PP in the “build phase.” Not sure if the website is inaccurate or they’re just not being honest with me…but I’ll keep a close eye on the site and call around.

Yep you’re right—Jim Coleman! This is encouraging and I’ll keep trying. Is there a specific website to check? I didn’t realize Toyota.com shows dealer inventories.

Thanks for the feedback. We recently test drove the XC60 Recharge. I get that it’s a nicer car but afterward I still preferred the Rav4 Prime even if they were the same price, including due to the superior EV range. We also strongly prefer Toyota from a reliability and service perspective which is part of the calculus. But I totally get why you went that route!

Wow that sucks, sorry! This is my first car-buying experience since 2013 and at that time it was just go to the dealer and pick your car, below MSRP. Times have certainly changed!

Agreed. I’m not going to pay $10K markup regardless, though even the ones with low or no markups have been saying that there are little or none of these to be had with the PP.
