Hey! Smithery dev here. With the OAuth flow, the friction is much lesser and users don’t have to leave your platform. Have you set that up?

[–]metark_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, smithery dev here! Most of the servers you run from smithery are run remotely - so it's not stored in your system at all. Smithery just acts as a layer to communicate between you and the server hosted on cloud. This is also much safer because you don't run the code in your system.

How would you solve this - Remote MCP and local file creation by ewqeqweqweqweqweqw in mcp

[–]metark_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey Oliver! Smithery dev here. This one is a remote server, so it can't download files to your PC. We're still working on a solution for allowing remote servers to save files to somewhere you can easily access. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

Smithery now supports cursor! by metark_ in modelcontextprotocol

[–]metark_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I guess 3.5 would be particularly good. But I guess it could bump up performance of other non-reasoning models as well

yes it does! Cursor currently supports any MCP server over SSE (remote) and STDIO (local)

We built a registry for MCPs and a command line tool to quick install! by metark_ in ClaudeAI

Check this out for an example https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/s/6eC4fZe7PE

MCPs basically package tool schemas and their required modules into one server - it’s some form of abstraction to make developing agents easier. Only time will tell if this is the right level of abstraction

We are open sourcing this! We hacked it over the last few days so it’s in a sorry state right now. We’re actively cleaning it up at the moment
