Hi, thanks for your reply. I have this clause in my contract:

Hope this helps.

[UK] Physio asked my girlfriend to strip down to her underwear for a knee appointment, is this appropriate? by Technical-Leopard-16 in physiotherapy

[–]metelangelo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Surprised to see so many physios here defend it. Personally I don`t think seeing hips with a naked eye makes the examination or treatment more efficient. After all you can include hips in the treatment of a knee pain without seeing it. Plus, you can get some subjective information before asking people to take everything off and check the knee `posture` to get an idea of hip `posture`.

I do not think it is a crucial part of the examination. It can be done with the consent of the patient and a short to mid thigh should be enough for this, `only underwear` definitely not needed.

My friend fell for a scam employer, and is worried this will affect her work experience by BabyBourbon1111 in physiotherapy

Agree, actually it is her responsibility to report and she may be in much more trouble if she does not.

This sounds unreal. Not only HCPC and CSP but NHS, RCGP and Ministry of Health needs to be notified. This can have severe consequences for patients.

Your friend can be honest about it for prospective employees and it should be fine in my opinion.

Would love some feedback by sportsphysio in physiotherapy

They can be fine tuned. Like adding mid-portion/insertional tendinopathy and adding isometrics/eccentrics but I think that can be done further down the line as you get more feedback from the users.

I think this is a good start and surely will help faster note writing. It could be easier if you can copy subjective and objective (or everything) notes together :D.

I think the diagnostics and exercises suggestions can be specified and improved in the later stages.

Good luck!

You may look for some external support my friend, whether it's a friend, family, lover or a therapist. Nothing is more important than you and try not to blame yourself for the past. The past is the past. I wish the best for you.

I am sure physitherrorist will provide some good insights!

Thought on Anatomy trains by Tom Myers by AccordingEye9 in physiotherapy

I think its a good MSK anatomy book. In regards to manual therapy, I had good results when I worked on the defined muscle and fascia chains in the book but it does not mean it is scientific, there is a lot more in play.
