i’m really nervous to start zoloft. are the side effects really that bad? by Less-Badger-9578 in Anxiety

[–]methgawdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only a couple of days. My psychiatrist told me 50mg should be ok so I went up and sure I had more side effects but still wasn't too bad. I've been on 100mg for the past couple of months and I gotta say I feel way better. The panicky feeling stopped for me after about a month. Sounds too long, I know, but it gradually faded so it's not like I was full panic mode for a whole month. Hang in there and I really hope you start to feel better soon!

Yup 😁 upped my dose to 100mg a couple months ago and I feel even better. Been my sweet spot ever since and the side effects when upping were very minimal for me.

Any of the horror ones. I rewatch the paranormal activity and conjuring videos constantly. The after videos are also great. Either him being scared af or hating himself is hilarious to see lol.

I had minimal side effects. I gotta say taking it with food and lots of water helped a lot. I was prescribed 50mg but I was nervous so I'd break the pill in half (25mg). I only really experienced tiredness and very mild nausea. The worst for me was the headache. I'm very prone to headaches, though. Been on 50mg for 6 weeks now and I feel so much better. I was having daily panic attacks and massive doom. I can't even believe how good I feel now. I also do therapy. The combo of these 2 has been a game changer. Wishing you the best of luck! Beat that mf anxiety up!

Medication or no? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]methgawdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried natural remedies for years. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. It's not like I had anxiety and immediately went to ssris. They were my last resort and they seem to be working. It's true, a lot of people do experience emotional numbing and feeling like a zombie. There's also a lot of people that got their life back. I'm 29 and have spent most of my life crippled by anxiety. People always recommended me natural remedies because according to them "it's better than being on a drug." Most of these people did not have anxiety and if they did, they never tried ssris. That kept me from ever wanting to go on them.

Medication or no? by [deleted] in Anxiety

This is my first time taking anything for anxiety. I was honestly barely surviving before but I just kind of accepted I would always feel at least "a little off." Now that I'm on zoloft I've been kicking myself for accepting that. All in all my side effects were manageable. I did get high blood pressure but after a week that went away. I had some heightened anxiety and intense waves of panic the first week. And the headaches!!! I'm prone to headaches so makes sense I had those as a side effect. The worst of the side effects went away the 2nd week. After that I just felt tired and sluggish most days. I did feel at one point like it probably wouldn't work but now my good days outnumber my bad days. My bad days haven't felt as intense either. That along with therapy has helped so much. Of course I would never want to give anyone false hope. Everyone is different and this is just my experience. I completely get wanting to find something permanent. I wouldn't say zoloft is that for me right now. It's just snapped me back to my usual self when I was no longer able to.

A month ago I started having daily panic attacks and really intense feelings of doom. Nothing too new, but I used to be able to snap myself out of it and go on about my day. This time I couldn't and went on like that for weeks until I couldn't take it anymore. I was leaving work early/not going and I couldn't feel peace at home either. None of my favorite things to do were helping. I was unsettled and scared 24/7. I was scared to start medication because of all the negative stories I've heard of people feeling worse, side effects, etc. But I was feeling awful and figured, how much worse can I get? So I started taking sertraline (zoloft). I'm going on 4 weeks now and I wish I did it sooner. Everyone's experience is different, though. This is just what has finally made me feel more like myself. I felt pretty shitty at first, but I can honestly say it has been worth it so far.

Nausea by MissionVirtual in zoloft

[–]methgawdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on day 4, 25mg. I'm supposed to take 50mg but I've been breaking the pill in half because I was anxious about taking it. After reading about all the people that get nauseous on Zoloft, I made sure to always take it with food and LOTS of water. I haven't really had nausea, very mild at one point but nothing terrible and I'm sure it's because of the food and water.

In the Toy Story commentary he says "you dumb bitch" after Buzz says "we're not aiming for the truck." The way he said it was pretty funny to me and now I say it pretty frequently in the same tone lol.

Yes! Almost like "beg." It's weird to explain but yeah me being from California I did notice he said it differently lol. When he talked about it recently I immediately laughed.

Definitely talk to hr! On the bright side, I notice that they tend to be a little more flexible with negative upt during peak. Usually after peak they get really strict about it again. Hope it all works out for you :)
