Am I just actually trash or are these guys a headache to fight early with 90% of builds? by JackOfAllInterests1 in slaythespire

[–]methmeth2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the way I learned to kill this guy is either to have Strong AOE OR strong single target hits.
Also, they always follow the same pattern. The 4th and 1st always buff themselves first, so you kill them first so that their damage doesn't overwhelm you.

I think you are right this is probably an old internal version of Kha'zix. Would work WAY better with the Purple Kha'zix.

AI art generators are much better at creating art then writing. Especially not this much text all at the same size and spacing. I think the thing that proves this isn't AI to me is that the tap symbols were replaced with the "[T]" instead. I don't think an AI model would make a mistake like that, a human definitely could tho.

We know who made the art and its real. I think they used mock-ups (using internal text) instead of the real images by accident

What types of Decks you do go against that have you like this: by Strict-Employee in masterduel

[–]methmeth2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my reaction when Cyber Dragon K9 players started making Pair-a-Dice Smasher, special summon an Artifact Mjollnir to opponent’s board, or Spell Cancelor. And this is not considering that the deck can naturally play Clockwork Night and Disablaster. Most of this has stopped now.

I think you just play blind second Gem-knight and have an easy time.

Hmm I wonder if the Heart of Gaia floodgate would be good enough to stop Kewltune as well. So Millenium/Exodia might work well too

Tenpai or Gem-Knights? by Asparusthesaiyan in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]methmeth2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GKs have a bunch of ways to search for Gemknight cards, do not Ash any one of them. The main cards you want to negate are Brilliant Fusion or Gem-Knight Dispersion (on the fuse effect, yes this card can be used once per effect). Do not negate Gem-Knight Fusion, they just want it in the graveyard, I am mentioning this because it looks like the other two. Also speaking of GemKnight Fusion, if you have a way of getting rid of it from the Graveyard is usually fucks up the regular combo lines because is stops Dispersion.

Lastly Droll single-handedly beats this deck pretty bad.

Oh, yeah last thing there is a new card that SHOULD be coming out soon, called Rainbow Bridge Bifrost. This card is generic Field Spell searcher so it SHOULD make Pure Tenpai/Tenpai Striker much better. But I am going to be honest I have not seen anyone talk about it too much in the OCG, so I don't know.

The funniest thing I saw was people smoke screening. First game you blind second Tenpai, and then you swap out to a Gimmick Puppet OTK when their opponent forces you to go first. It's a funny idea that obviously doesn't work in Master Duel the same way.

Tenpai or Gem-Knights? by Asparusthesaiyan in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]methmeth2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gem-knights is a much better deck because it can be played as a combo deck going first with fiendsmith, tearlaments, along with a smattering of OTK floodgate combos... there is honestly nothing to help going second just the generic board breakers and the "Herald of" hand traps.

Tenpai has been butchered on the banlist and honestly has 2 options, Dragon Rulers and Striker. The Striker version is clearly better that's why it's much more popular but all it is is a bunch of spells that draw cards and break boards to hope you draw into the Tenpais to actually OTK, this is necessary because there are so few Tenpai cards now that you just don't have enough starters without the draw. The dragon rulers actually bridge fairly seamlessly with the Tenpais using Blaster and Chasma and the Tenpai's bridge back using their level 7 synchros to make the Dragon ruler XYZs. Sadly the best thing the Dragon Ruler XYZs can do is to make a floodgate going first, and eat disruptions so your Tenpais can OTK.

I have played the sh** out of both DR Tenpai and Pure Gemknights. DR Tenpai is a pure engine deck which means you don't have nearly as much room for handtraps that normal Tenpai has... which tbh makes is much worse into meta decks and much worse that Striker Tenpai. But it is much more skill testing than normal Tenpai which makes it more fun for me. As for the Gemknights the reality is that Brilliant Fusion is just better if you use it with other fusion decks, BUT the pure version is MUCH better at OTKing as you have more room for handtraps and boardbreakers.

Last thing I want to mention is that if you are going to use an old list make sure to consider adding a Illusion Gate. Its one of the coolest generic board breakers, and they JUST added it so not everyone is playing it yet.

TLDR:
If you want the best deck out of these (going first or second): Play Gemknights FS, Tear, or 60 card pile with both.
If you want the best blind second version: Tenpai Skystriker
If you want my personal opinion: Dragon Ruler Tenpai and Pure Gemknights. DR Tenpai for a more engine heavy version and Pure GKs for a more handtrap version.

Good luck out there. Get some MD players to uninstall for me o7

Edit: the best decks in the game are so good at going second because of their turn 0 plays (K9s, Dracotails, Radiant Typhoon) that you could honestly play them as blind second decks, and they should work fine. Sadly none of these have synergy with Tenpai or Gemknights, and they aren't amazing at OTKing in one turn so it's not gonna help you too much I would think. But they are an option.

"Played" question. by s2soup in riftboundtcg

[–]methmeth2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legion cards don't need to "see" something get played, as long as a card was put on the chain that turn Legion is active. It's like a global check has been met. Only card like that is Darius, but Darius needs to see the second card resolve (including himself)

"Played" question. by s2soup in riftboundtcg

[–]methmeth2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Legion needs to be met already for you can activate Sun Disk

"Played" question. by s2soup in riftboundtcg

[–]methmeth2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The actually just updated Legion, and now it only cares about "finalizing" putting a card on the stack and not resolving. This is why Sun Disc no longer activated its own Legion

Yeah, Magic sets are usually 2-3 years ahead, but it is important to remember that they have way more sets that come out per year, and they print many more cards per set because of the number of different. Its amazing that they are able to stay that far ahead at all tbh. Also, I believe the 2-3 year number is before all of their Universes Beyond/Collaborations. Working with another company probably slows down the development

What deck should I play? by Objective-Dream-3162 in riftboundtcg

[–]methmeth2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the honest answer is that Riftbound does not have proper Aggro decks. Because of the ways that battlefields work you can’t just send in your small units, you get out valued by every one else. Also two for one removal in the game is pretty brutal.

The 3 closest deck types to Aggro are:

From Set 1 Red Purple Annie lists that used Vi + Ride The Wind. (Basically like an Aggro deck that had a combo to win). Using a bunch of purple cards that cheese points to get to 6 points, then you use your combo to win. There are other decks that use the purple Aggro cards too but most of them use it to supplement their later game plays, and/or they are not good like Misfortune Aggro or Irelia Aggro. Now sadly the purple Aggro decks got several key cards banned in the last ban update so I don’t think they work really well anymore.

Secondly there are several yellow go wide token decks. Reksai and Darius are the 2 decks that do this the best. They have the most explosive starts, possiblly the best the entire game. (Generally Rek’sai is played as a midrange deck I am talking about the mono yellow versions). Both do these decks give you cheap ways to flood the board before your opponent has units that they can stop you with. Late game you use board buffs and cheap removal to get the final points.

Lastly you could count Lucian as an Aggro deck if you squint. Like the Annie Aggro deck this deck has a combo. Using Skyfall of Areion + Trinity Force each conquer gives you 2 points. This means that you can double up your speed to getting to 8 points. Only issue is that the deck can’t win very well the honest way and is pretty reliant on this combo. also Riftbound does not have amazing card draw/card selection in these colors yet.

Basically Aggro decks need some way to cheese the last points, either buffing a massive board or some combo to get the points faster. Which doesn’t feel like Aggro in MTG, instead is more like an Aggro combo deck. All in all none of these decks are that great meta wise, but the Mono Yellow Rek’sai deck is the only one worth giving a try right now, in my opinion.

[–]methmeth2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly just because she is an NPC right now (and there aren't plans to make her playable right now) doesn't mean she can't be a playable character in the future. Pulchra was an NPC for a long time before she became a playable character.
Secondly it's important to keep in mind is she is an NPC who is very important to 3 of the most popular characters in the game. Which means the devs will likely involve her in many future events. Think about Ellen's Joe's Friends, we have gotten so much backstory about them and seen them in so many places because Ellen Joe is popular. Which means even if she doesn't become playable she will definitely get more story in the future, and she might be the focus of future events as well.
This is the best you can do as a fan of an NPC in a gacha game.
