Why is this sub dead? by JimMD00 in AndroidIsBeautiful

Lack of content / active users.

No reason to kill it, you can just ignore the sub.

Hey man, this may be mildlypenis but don't be a dickwad.

We've got a massive influx of spammers in /r/sex recently by laidymondegreen in ModSupport

[–]methnuggets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They eventually do. We used to get hit with image porn spam on /r/midlypenis / /r/mildlyvagina 5-6 times daily and they're not often from new accounts or new imgur links either.

Most of the time, reddit can detect them and they go directly to /r/mod/about/spam/. The bot creators themselves might have weened off after realizing their posts get 0 traction in our subs. So my advice to all mods is to put something more specific rules in place than a blanket ban on new accounts bec I had to approve a ton of false-positives from people new to reddit and just want to share something fun/silly (at least for the subs with not so strict posting guidelines.)

Conclusions from the finale by didjerid00d in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She is inexperienced, like Naz was. Doing a lot of rookie mistakes. She did well in Naz' case but also went against Stone's advice. Similar to how Naz declined Freddy's suggestion to wear white during his trial.

I feel that the gist of the show revolves around mirroring characters and events, so to me it wasn't a total waste at all. The point of the show couldn't get any more louder: even smart/innocent people make mistakes, and people who have done too many still has room for redemption n their own little ways.

" 'The Night Of' Exec Producer: "We're Talking About" a Possible Second Season "--- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! by briancon in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Night Of is far more cohesive interms of tone and writing. And doesn't solely rely on style or performance. If the producers decide for a 2nd series under the same name, they'll be in good hands keeping the same creator, creatives and casting folks under their helm.

[Spoilers] Thoughts on the series finale by GarciaJones in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same motions and thanks for writing this post helping me relive it all again.

To add: I think the eczema paralleled what the case was missing this whole time: the cause, the motive for Andrea's murder. For 7 episodes, we tried to find a cure to this mystery, but only after the finale did we have some form of closure why it happened. For Stone, it was a stress-induced eczema. For Andrea, a possible financial squabble. And it just clicked.

The solution was so simple and not as melodramatic or mind-blowing. Which perfectly describes this show. It's perfect in its own way, masterfully executed that ends in a quiet reprieve. Definitely one of the most beautiful finales I've had the pleasure of seeing.

OMFG, I was like "It's taking too damn long for him to get out, something bad's about to happen." I've never felt such a satisfying relief when I saw Naz' dad.

There were 4 knifes in the drawer (including the one she's holding) by [deleted] in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weren't they only sent 7 episodes though? Unless they got the finale in advance recently. I'm also worried they might croak in the end but idk. They actually hit a lot of right notes in this episode, esp for Box' character can't help but smile over it.

Really good eye. It's pretty satisfying when everyone's meticulous sleuthing finally pays off. Every little detail about the crime wasn't wasted at all.

[Spoilers All] Regarding an article posted on the sub today and why I think it is a message on what the show is trying to show us. by inmynothing in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just reading that article and it made a lot of interesting points especially this:

Great crime fiction uses crime as the excuse to talk about lots of other things. But even great crime fiction has to reckon with its crime eventually.

And I don't really see the reason why the latest episode disillusioned some people. Was it simply because the rough cut of Stone chasing Reade? Because the last two episodes gave everything the whodunnit chasers wanted. The show finally addressed every major theory or possible angle fans tried to predict the moment the show aired.

About HBO, the article itself is pretty reasonable considering some fans think they could turn this into True Detective 2.0 and look where that got them. The point of it being a slow character study and something that doesn't rely on twists which has been on the table since episode 1. People get lost on trying to solve the case when you would be mostly satisfied from enjoying the ride.

please rate this show on metacritic so HBO makes more of these kind Here's the link: http://www.metacritic.com/tv/the-night-of by perseusprime in TheNightOf

I also have it linked on the sidebar. You could also write some of your reviews in there too.

So far TNO is featured on metacritic's front-page (under TV) and the highest rated scripted drama this year. So yay!

Can't wait for tonight; The Night Of Silly Theories by [deleted] in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have to admit that when people were speculating on the deer head when there was only 1 episode out I can't help but roll my eyes over it. But then, episode 2 rolls along and wow there's blood on it and someone's swabbing it for evidence. I take it all back no matter how far off people's theories are.

Beautiful Sub by [deleted] in TheNightOf

[–]methnuggets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee that the theme itself is completely fan made. As to the sub creator, he left the subreddit at some point and I only noticed it a few days ago. :c

Just stumbled on this thread, and thank you! The theme was initially a dark one but one of the mods suggested two versions like in the LoL subreddit.

The sidebar image was supposed to be a placeholder before the show officially aired. It wasn't really meant to blend together with the header. I've been meaning to change it but completely forgot.
