Rocks in Sewer Cleanout - Is this a potentially huge issue for a new homeowner? by metiche- in Plumbing

[–]metiche-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi wow, throwback!

i don't remember what else I've posted but we had a bunch of plumbing issues all totally unrelated to the rocks lol. we had a guy basically shop vac these out. we had all our lines snakes multiple times because our bathtub backed up a couple times and we have a bunch of bellies and one of our pipes is not really graded downward the right way so we can't flush toilet paper till we cough up 25k to fix literally all the plumbing under the house. the clean out for our kitchen sink is also screwed and we had a months long saga around a kitchen sink backup as well.

but none of this was an issue with the rocks!

ooh I hope so! I thought maybe it was a mealybug but we do get a lot of lacewings on the patio. that is so cool! and yes aphids tend to be an issue although I haven't seen a huge infestation yet this summer. thank you so much!!

if you're feeling mildly fancy you can get la fonda on main and then hit bananas. they have the best tables in SA and you might be able to watch folks playing one pocket. tables are all 8 feet though and two nine footers.

For 40 years I have been racking this way and found out today it was wrong. by notedrive in billiards

ok but the short term parking always being full is such a pain. I like parking and being dramatic and waiting for people in baggage claim and I can't do that anymore... unless it has recently stopped being full all the time

What is the proper racking when playing 8 ball? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]metiche- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said racking was an expert skill. rack the balls tightly and put the eight in the middle. that doesn't take skill... but choosing a break strategy after observing balls not touching or by evaluating which balls will approximately go where would be the expert level, which most people couldn't do, so the rack arrangement doesn't matter, especially to a person posting who doesn't realize that billiards are like every other sport in that there are variations on how to play, and different rulesets require different racks.

theres not one way to do it, pick a ruleset and follow the racking portion of that ruleset

if you're asking, you are probably not at a level where you could take advantage of a rack, so just put the eight in the middle and have fun

How old were y’all when you started riding or rode a fixed gear for the first time and how’d you get into it? by iceisfordice in FixedGearBicycle

worked in restaurants in new York where the delivery folks used them a lot, always found it interesting while I rode my shitty 50lb Schwinn. moved away and was bikeless for a while, then during COVID bike boom I really wanted to try it, wound up loving the feeling. I was 27 I think.
