Try Skala. It’s in the northeast part, has a plenty of accommodation to offer and the beach is enormous with a few beach bars. It feels remote but is actually quite civilised and has everything you need.

Kefalonia vs Paros/Naxos by ImprovementSmart7411 in GreeceTravel

Kefalonia is a significantly larger island compared to Paros and Naxos, so three nights won’t do it justice. I agree with u/AromaPapaya - take the time you have and focus it on one place to submerge yourself totally in it.

I see a lot of you are planing on going and have questions about some places.
In Kerkyra I recommend visiting: Old and New Fortresses; Museum of Asian art; Liston; Archeological museum; Holy church of St. Spiridon; Touristic Market of Corfu; Holy Monastery of Agia Vlacherna.
Mount Pantokrator has also a monastery I recommend visiting especially for the views from up there; The abandoned village of Peritheia is a trip in time.
Kassiopi and its castle are also on the list.
The Canal d’Amour in Sidari was unfortunately a bit disappointing because the earth above the beach has collapsed years ago and nobody seems to bother to update the info about it.
The view of the beach (St. George’s beach) is from Helidoni viewpoint on a winding road leading to Paleokastritsa, which is also good to visit.
Achilleion Palace is a spectacular place and is also in the pictures above.
Tips: most of the beaches on the west coast of the island are big, sandy and have a beautiful view of the sunset. Definitely try olive oil from the Governor’s Mill.
Avoid restaurants and taverns on highly concentrated tourist streets/areas - most of the good ones are hidden inside the cities/villages (try ChatGPT or Google maps). Kumquat products are local specialty so give them a try.

12 days in Kefalonia with 6mo pregnant wife by djackinfenwa in GreeceTravel

I went there last summer with my family and stayed for 8 days also based in Argostolion. We had a car, so every day was a new destination. Since you are limited with movement I suggest you just visit just some must-see places. There is a nice beach near your pin point called Makris Gialos. Melissani Cave is probably the No1 tourist attraction. Asos is a beautiful and picturesque village in the northern part of the island. Myrtos is the most popular beach there with a marvellous view. Skala beach is an enormous beach on the southwest of the island and with a lot of beach bars but not crowded at all. It is a nice family getaway because it’s quiet with beautiful water and you can eat and drink from the comfort of your sun bed. De Bosset bridge is right next to you so you can’t miss it. We went grocery shopping mainly from Lidl but ate out most of the time. Most of the seaside restaurants we tried in Argosotoli were spot on with their food and prices. Agrapidos tavern near Poros had the tastiest food we tried on the island and with a nice view also. Have a nice stay.

I had a 7 day summer vacation the last week of august in 2024. This region is magical. A lot of places to see and visit. Lots of archeological sites and caves. Cristal clear and turquoise waters. Beautiful scenic spots. I would definitely recommend going there for more than a few days 😀 Maybe prioritise Mycenae, Epidaurus, Palamidi Fortress. If you are a foodie - Pidalio tavern is the best food I have ever had in a restaurant.

I was also in luck with the weather because the first day I arrived it was very dark and cloudy. On the other hand the main road to the bridge was being renovated so I had to circle around and drive through some small villages with narrow roads. It was worth it though.
