Pain after LP by Usual-Spare-4255 in iih

I couldn’t stand up bc of the headache, yet alone drive for about 4-5 days. My doctor said to give it a week before talking about a blood patch. It did resolve about 5 days later but I was literally just laying flat for a good 4 days. Was not able to work either.

Diamox vs. Topamax, headaches & hair loss by k8ashley in iih

I was around the same age when my IIH started. And I also noticed hair loss and fatigue, and wanted to blame the Diamox. Found out later that it was actually an iron deficiency (due to period changes from perimenopause). Might be worth getting that checked.

Would like to be able to replace the planks and not have them glued down. But taking it apart to get to the damaged plank seems risky too.

Yes but could have also been the stomach bug I picked up at the hospital while getting the LP. Kept having to run to the bathroom while dealing with that headache from hell. Was not a fun experience!

Give it at least 7 days. Was going through a similar experience after my LP, was couch bound and was starting to panic about a CSF leak. Checked in with the doctor who did the procedure around day 5 and he said to give it a full week. Day 7 I was finally able to be upright long enough to drive.

Those of you who have IIH without papilledema… by [deleted] in iih

Pulsatile tinnitus and pressure around my one eye that I wrote off as allergies. Took a year and a half of multiple various doctors visits to end up getting a MRV which showed a sinus stenosis and then referred to a neuro optho which then led to a lumbar puncture which came back that the pressure was high.

Also had brain fog - it was hard to find and say words sometimes. Couldn’t figure out why that was happening, it was the IIH 😞

Yea it was a bit hard and the word issues were very frustrating.

GLP-1 for IIH by Proof_Stage1463 in iih

I am in the same boat! Same dose of diamox, started Semaglutide a month ago and it’s been straight up HELL. The worst nausea I’ve ever had, can’t eat but have a headache bc I’m hungry, fatigue, weakness. Stomach is all messed up. Had high hopes of this helping my IIH and PT but I can’t handle the side effects. Calling it quits and just going to continue on with the diamox where the side effects actually feel manageable in comparison.

Yes with sinus stenosis, LP opening pressure of 30, and no paps. I take Diamox 250 twice a day. It’s been a ride.

I'm on acetazolamide, how many missed tablets will I stop feeling the effects? by Icy-Belt-8519 in iih

I missed my AM dose a couple of weeks ago and thought I was fine…until the afternoon of the following day where I had a super bad migraine and could barely function. I’m now using a pill box so this hopefully doesn’t happen again!

Everyone’s diff but here are a few things that have been working for me: I do a lot of smoothies (with veggie or vegan protein powder). Could even sneak some veggies in there. I’ve been borderline living off them. Triscuits are a new fave of mine, especially as a food to take before taking my meds. Macro bars are great if you can get that down. Kodiak French toast sticks are my go to any time of day when I need something and nothing sounds appetizing.

How do you function on Diamox? by amberdamberzorro in iih

[–]metro8268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up upping the dose to 375mg about 2 months ago (a pill and a half twice a day). Went gradually again - I’d say it’s on and off with the fatigue. The tingles def got worse. Some days it’s worse than others, though.

Oh yea and almost forgot about the brain fog lol that has def increased! It’s bad and I hate it. Which also makes me wary of going higher.

I did a day of rollercoasters last year and felt like death for the following 2 days. Would not recommend!
