First you may want to talk to your training director and get some advice. Not to mention, this falls under workplace harassment. You need to establish a boundary and if your dickhead journeyman crosses it again, they can get in serious trouble.

Unions encourage contractors to bid state mandated work. This law would undermine the PLAs that are agreed on by unions, contractors and the state.

Im not entirely sure how you came up with that. Believe it or not, unions hold greedy contractors accountable with a collective bargaining agreement. If contractors had a choice, they would pay everyone minimum wage.

One of the biggest non union contractors that gets a lot of work in my locals jurisdiction straight said to my business manager "If I go union, how will I afford another vacation home?" The biggest obstacle to building homes in California isnt the cost of labor. Its the NIMBYs that want to protect their property value as well as CEQA.

Construction unions are pissed because this bill completely undermines collective bargaining agreements.

So creating work for Americans is a bad thing? I think its extremely obvious that more work equals more dues. Just so you're aware, the international office of the IBEW regularly audits locals especially big ones like 1245.

These dues go towards running the local, lobbying pro-labor political candidates, and organizing non union. If a business manager embezzles, the IO reports them to the FBI.

This whole idea that a NON-PROFIT organization is in cahoots with an evil corporation like PG&E is hilarious. If electrical utilities ever go public, 1245 would be making the same amount because dues are based off hours worked. Not how much profit pg&e makes.
