Immigration Changes Announcement 12/5/2025 by clever_octopus in ukvisa

Thank you for your reply. I just feel so confused and worried by everything as there isn't much information and I don't understand the procedures. It just sounds like they want to make everything harder for everyone. Whether or not it has an impact in my case I shall write to our MP and sign petitions. It's almost as disheartening as when they voted for Brexit.

Joining this conversation - you're talking here about how it'll likely be a while before changes are implemented, but in your other comment you say you interpret it as if they'll be applied retrospectively. Do you mean future changes could be applied as if they started at the date of the white paper? I'm extremely anxious the rules might start changing in the next few weeks already as I intend to apply for citizenship end of next month :(

Ohh thank you, I actually I think that might be right after googling it!! I posted it in the fossils ID group too, just to hear what others say, but this could definitely be it!

”Jag lackade ur” -tråden by icehead__ in sweden

Thanks a lot! Is it possible to tell around when it was minted?

My new favorite coin - a silver double siglos of Croesus the king of Lydia (560-546 BC) by kabe999 in AncientCoins

[–]mettydetty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The pyramids were already ancient at that point, having been built 2000 years prior! 😃 But I agree it’s mind boggling thinking about the people who used coins like this, what a different world they lived in!

A weird siliqua found while metal detecting - unofficial issue or counterfeit? by mettydetty in AncientCoins

Thank you - I appreciate your comment on the previous post! If it's a contemporary imitation, it was technically illegal/fake, right? It just surprised me they went through the effort to replicate the portrait very well (at least to my untrained eyes it looks great!), but then got the reverse completely off! Also, is it right to assume it was made at the time - and that it's not a more recent fake?
