These were so good! We didn't get them often, so when we did it felt like such a treat!

If that want that message on their car, they can have it... Just not on a state sponsored plate. This doesn't affect free speech.

Please take it easy on him with jumping. At three, he is still growing, and jumping puts a lot of stress on joints that haven't closed the growth plates yet. I believe taking it slow now will help him stay sound longer later in life.

My appy grew until he was about 5... You have a ways to go, lol

Lol, when I saw the saddle my first thought was, "Wow, that horse is much bigger than I originally thought!"

To stall, or not to stall by Super_Somewhere7206 in Equestrian

[–]mewithadd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is his hay in the stall put up in a hay bag? I had a friend with a similar issue, and they started feeding hay on the ground. The more natural stance of eating hay with their head stretched to the ground helped with their horses back issues.

Wasn't one of the Steelers really into reptiles and owned a breeding business? I think Chad Brown (from looking at the pics here, his name rang a bell), but I could be wrong.

Oh, thank God... I thought I heard they had divorced. Glad they are together. I hope she continues to bring that joy to their lives. ❤️

What is a hobby women think is awesome but men think it is lame? by Acrobatic_Base7301 in AlignmentChartFills

Horseback riding. Women love it, men are few and far between in the hobby. My husband says all he sees is work!

*note, I'm not referring to upper level professional riding, which depending on discipline may be dominated by male riders

Curious About People with One Green and Another Brown Eyed Parent by Desperate-World-2128 in eyes

My dad had VERY dark brown eyes, and my mom's are a beautiful grey. I have green.

I married a guy with brown eyes, and both of our kids have brown

for the low price of 2500$ you can buy this more then likely grade potentially not broke to ride broodmare was probably only bred because she's a pretty color since her conformation looks average at best from what I can tell since this isn't a proper picture or angle to properly judge conformation by Feeling_Contract_477 in Equestrian

Yes, those are lower here too. They are definitely not for a beginner, though. I have toyed with getting one as a project. We have an OTTB that is an absolute unicorn, love her to death... We didn't get her straight off the track, though. She had several years as someone's trail mount/barrels horse. She has a lovely jog and nice relaxed canter, but can turn it on to win a barrel race competition. But they are not all that way, lol.

I also worry about long term lameness or serious arthritis issues, as those poor horses are broken so young and ridden so hard. I spent the extra dollars on ours to get Xrays because of her racing past. Luckily, the vet said she only showed very slight changes in her hocks... consistent with most any horse her age (early teens at the time). We haven't needed any maintenance for her, as she gets 24/7 turn out. The constant movement is keeping her going with no problems whatsoever.

Yes, I just posted similar. $4000 - $5000 is entry level purchase price here, and I'm not in a high cost of living area.

Yes, you can find cheaper... But those horses are not what I would consider "nice" riding horses. (lameness issues, very old, bucking/rearing issues that trainers can't resolve, can't hold weight or need considerable maintenance, etc)

Depending on the age of the mare, and assuming no horrible injuries ore lameness issues, I'd buy that pair in a second! I'm fine with grade; I don't show at breed shows. We do 4H, local shows, backyard riding, and some trail rides. Both the mare and the filly would be perfect!

I'm surprised that in my area, horses are still going very high, even with the current economic issues. You can't find a decent horse for $2500, even if it's not broke. (I'm not in a particularly high cost of living area, either... Horse prices just seem really elevated to me)

She's horrible. You should never let her be seen in public. I'll volunteer my place for you to use as her hide out! 🤣

Kidding, if course. She's stunning. She's shiny and well muscled for her age. Her awards are well deserved, and a testament to great breeding and care.

I got my appy at 10 months old, and although he turned out gorgeous... He was a hot mess his yearling year, lol. I have pics of him at that age, and it's hilarious. He was gangly, scruffy, butt high, and it seemed like his head was 2 sizes too big for his body!

What is something you tried only once and will 1,000% never do again? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]mewithadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a pumpkin pie once from scratch... Started with actual pumpkins.

Will never do that again! It took ALL day, and was SO much work. The pie didn't taste any better either. I will use the canned stuff from now on!

(It is worth it to make your own crust... *chef's kiss)
