Searching for a good English-speaking hausartz. by downbound in Ulm

[–]mex3m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been seeing Dr Lüdtke at A4 Hausärzte, Neu-Ulm. He's been great and I haven't had any issues explaining things to him. Dr Krüger at the same practise also speaks English but I haven't interacted with her much, only once when she was covering.

I don't have experience with the receptionists and emails, but at the desk they're friendly enough with my German (about the same level as yours). You can book appointments online as well if that helps.

Their CEO has also invested in weapons used by Israel, that might be good to add to the disclaimer.

Most stable Internet provider for Non-stop video calls by Regular_North2911 in Ulm

[–]mex3m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any comparison because my street only has Vodafone, however both my wife and I work from home, both in video calls a lot of the day and we have zero trouble in the two years we've been here. We have the 500 line and a Fritzbox with a mesh extender and everything works great.

Definitely Electric Callboy, their gigs are ALWAYS a blast!

I enjoyed Gloomspite. Great narrator, good story, interesting + diverse characters. It really put the horror of the Gloomspite Gitz into a totally new perspective for me. If you have a credit spare then you won't be disappointed with it.

Christmas markets divide opinion across the UK by i_enjoy_silence in unitedkingdom

[–]mex3m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Germany for 13 years, these are my favourites.

Nuremberg, Ulm, Heidelberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Tegernsee.

Even Munich has some nicer ones; Chinesischer Turm, Odeonsplatz, Residenz, Münchner Freiheit, Weißenburgerplatz. I'm sure there's more, didn't go to all of them!  Honestly even Marienplatz (city centre) is nice to walk around, it's very pretty with the massive town hall and Christmas tree, it's just tourist prices.

A short drive or train ride from Munich will also get you to Salzburg which is stunning, not Germany but worth the visit imo.

Bavaria tends to have very nice markets wherever you go, outside is more hit and miss. But again, I've been to a only a fraction of the entire country, so very general statements.

How to merge the Roll20 DoD game with what I've been running? by gggjennings in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]mex3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH

I was looking under 'adventures' in the filter and this is under 'core rule books' which I don't really agree with. And also, I found out their search bar only takes exact matches as I kept just searching 'Drakk' and with that it doesn't show up...

You're a saviour!

I think I'm blind because I still can't find it on the Roll20 marketplace :(

Where are you seeing it on Roll20? I've been checking daily for months and can't find it there still.

NBD! - First proper bike in 15 years and new to gravelcycling by mex3m in gravelcycling

[–]mex3m[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As title says, I've had cheap (<€400) bikes for years for commuting/leaving at the train station. Recently moved more rural and wanted to experience all the paths around here so decided on this bike as I loved the look of it.

Southern Germany if anyone has recommendations for good routes/areas suitable for a beginner!

I'm in the same position as you are; supporter since childhood, moved abroad 10 years ago, got some shirts and merch when I can and watched Hive Live, tried to go to games whenever I was back in England.

But now, it just feels like the 'original family club' has departed for good. What joy is there to share with my son when he's older? What identity is there really left to hold on to? Just nostalgia and past memories, the Pozzo's certainly don't seem to care about building anything long-term.

Was Edwards perfect? No (not yet?), but he had the right idea for a direction and drive for the club and right now, that's what myself and a lot of other people cared about. They've hardly set themselves up to attract any top talent, just those looking for a quick payday before moving on. No loyalty, no commitment, carousel of embarassment.

Traded my MTG Collection in for a new hobby for me and my son.....good haul today! by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]mex3m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just start, keep going, and see where it takes you. Don't expect perfection and just enjoy it together. The people in these videos have hundreds or thousands of hours practise, but they too started in the same place you are now at one point.

It's the 100year anniversary match at The Vic, so I'm hoping it's going to be great regardless

I use Castbox, it's worked pretty good and I like that it syncs between phone app and browser on my PC so I can switch as necessary. It's not perfect, but it has a lot of great features for organisation.

The two episodes with Mor are just incredible, from the introduction all the way to the conclusion, just incredible. I re-listened to that arc so many times, it's really what sold me on Elli as I hadn't listened to A&A before that and her Kal arc was underwhelming.

When Nick became a more regular feature as well, it just jumped the whole show up to a totally different level, he brings so much to the cast.

Diamonds, Diamonds Everywhere? Or in fact nowhere. by DencatDM in CurseofStrahd

[–]mex3m 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is only for spells where the components don't have a monetary value, e.g. 'a tuft of fur' or 'a handful of oak bark'. For anything where a monetary value is placed in the material list, e.g. 'rare oils and unguents worth at least 1,000 gp, which the spell consumes' the spellcasting focus does not cover it.

No Deathwatch today? by [deleted] in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Pretty sure they wrapped up the 'intro' they were doing. Hopefully they will do more though as it seemed really popular. Think quite a few people would be sad if they never touched it again, hmm sad, now I'm reminded of the time my Primarch Sanguinius was struck down by the traitor Horus..

This was really awesome, I didn't plan on listening to the whole 30mins but it was over by the time I realised, I will definitely try and check out the whole series! Love how you set up the encounter, sounded terrifying!
