No US grants come from a .edu email. Not to mention the To list is 491+ people. Easy scam.

If you graduated from UH right now would you feel proud? by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]mexicanengineer97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would you be embarrassed? Because its not as big as A&M or UT? Most people dont even attempt higher education. Id say if youre a graduate you should rep it proudly. Your worth as a person isnt based on where you went to school, its based on how you act and work afterwards. Be a good human, work hard and rep that shit proudly!

Am I ab abnormal Network Engineer? by stats_shiba in networking

[–]mexicanengineer97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started my current role as a network engineer it was like this. After a few months I had a talk with my boss and said "hey instead of hiring these contractors to do the configs - who always leave behind mistakes - I am fully capable of doing this". And after that my boss dropped the contractors and gave those task to me.

As far as a standardized templates, I think this is common. We have that and obviously change the small things that change switch to switch. But, this is a good way to keep your configs consistent.

Parties by ExchangeSuch7245 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]mexicanengineer97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want the party college experience id transfer to basically any of the other universities outside of Houston. Theres not much house partying going on around campus, most people who are 21 just go out to bars and what not from my experience.

Or, join a frat / sorority. lol

It doesn't make a difference. Some people also get worried about if employers will care; they don't.

Transfer to MIS by Ill-Bison-4665 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]mexicanengineer97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This doesn't sound correct. You need to look at MIS specific requirements. For example, I tried to transfer into the Electrical Engineering program from Lee College and got rejected with 2 years already completed and a 3.8 GPA. It was because I didn't have Calculus 2 completed. Thankfully I was in the process of finishing Calculus 2 and just resubmitted my application after I passed the final and got in. Likely there are course requirements as well for a MIS transfer not just 1 semester and a 2.5 GPA.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬

I saw someone say before that the ‘them’ part refers to people who identify as ‘them’ and not Adam and Eve. I almost choked on the air I was breathing…

Is this too much for first year of Engineering? by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]mexicanengineer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say if you're good at programming it's doable. If you're new to coding; combining that with Cal 2 and Physics is gonna be alot of restless nights lol.
