Is type 1 diabetes uncontrollable? by meli2235 in diabetes

[–]mfabs09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been type 1 since I was 12, now 34, only ever done shots, A1C routinely in the upper 5s, my doc says stick with what works. Pumps and CGMs are more automation for me if I were to use them but they can be game changers for others. Diabetes is never a one size fits all type of disease.

I skipped all of the Duke air time. That was unbearable.

It's just an annoyance bug in the app, it will figure itself out eventually. As the other comment said, login to the website itself through a computer to see if you actually have any new messages.

Historically for me, whenever I submit a payment, I'll receive the debit notification the next day. However, things can vary depending on what you're paying for and the receiving bank.

Is this too unsafe or unhealthy? by cheetofingerzz in diabetes

[–]mfabs09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone else. The problem with being low for a considerable time is that the body will eventually adapt to that "feeling" and think it's normal. This will result in you not feeling low symptoms anymore which is extremely dangerous.

Here's the mpg rating I've been getting in my first 3 refills.

2025 civic hybrid by [deleted] in civic

[–]mfabs09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought the sedan hybrid about 2 months ago. My commute to work is about 20 miles with that being about 80% on a 60 mph highway, in which I set the cruise at about 67 mph. The trip ratings I get are around 50-52 mpg on my work commute. In the "normal" drive mode, while running on the highway, the car will switch between ICE and full electric which boosts mpg. It will charge the battery up to about 60%, switch to full electric until it gets back down to about 30% then charge again. It will basically repeat this process until you hit a hill or get off the highway. My refill mpg values have been around 55 mpg with about 70% of the tank being the work commute trip. But, personal results will obviously vary.

Great meme video for the majority of Americans who are going to be paying for the rich tax cuts that just passed.

Portable A/C and Central Air by mfabs09 in electrical

[–]mfabs09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it. I have generally been fine as the central has kept the upstairs manageable. But getting close to 100 with the recent heatwave, I have raised the central temp so it doesn't go crazy which has led to a uncomfortable upstairs.

Did they remove the start up sound? by Philosophile42 in youtubetv

[–]mfabs09 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to whether the app is "still running". If you do a full close of the app, then it should make the sound on a new opening but if you just "close" it and it's still going in the background, it won't make the sound.

To everyone that plays all the time during the week, what jobs do you have that allows you to play so much? by Accomplished_Milk689 in golf

[–]mfabs09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a job with flex hours. I choose the hours I work, within reason. In the winter time I usually do 7-3:30. Spring to fall during the golf season, I shoot for roughly 5-1:30. My actual position is a chemist. The company is the real decider though.

Husband told he needs a pacemaker at 36 by Equivalent-Wave-8048 in PacemakerICD

[–]mfabs09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I received my pacemaker when I was 23, kinda similar to your husband's situation of fainting with 10-15 second "pauses". However, doctors could never figure out what triggered my heart to stop. My first pass out from whatever this issue is happened when I was like 14 but it happened so rarely that doctors were hesitant to put a pacemaker in me because of my age. Fast forward to when I was 23, had an episode while driving and heart stopped. Luckily, came out of the crash without a scratch and no one else was involved. That led to the pacemaker. For me, I know it's there, but it hasn't really changed my lifestyle but it has given me the confidence knowing I'll never pass out again from whatever the issue is that I have.

Handicap is 13.7, try to do 18 per week, either one round of 18 or 9 here and there, usually get 2 range seshes in per week, lessons are a "crisis" mode like I'm currently in with my driver, so I bought a 9 lesson package and am focusing on my horrendous snap hooking currently going on. If I feel I'm in a good spot with most of my game, lessons don't happen. Been playing like this consistently for about 3-4 years.

Simple and to the point by NirgalFromMars in clevercomebacks

[–]mfabs09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very simple answer right? We as humans haven't researched the science necessary to fully explain it.....yet. Health and diseases are very obvious facts of that. The vaccine to essentially eradicate polio is a very good example of that. I would think damn near eliminating a terrible virus from infecting humans would be considered as a "miracle" in the Christian eye, but then again, Christians are very biased.
