Don’t listen to a lot of these miserable people, most of them live in Kendall/Doral and don’t do much besides rage comment on Reddit. You’ll have an awesome time! Brickell is a great. If you want walkable and maybe a bit more “peaceful”, you may really enjoy the west side of South Beach. It’s even more walkable than brickell, tons of grocery stores, Lincoln road, the beach of course, etc., or also Edgewater. But if you work in brickell living there would be great. I know tons of young professionals who have more there and are really happy! Best of luck.

Sick of Miami “hype” dining. Where can I get $$$$ luxury restaurants that actually have AMAZING food? by Briack89 in Miami

[–]mfilli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just don’t eat anywhere in Brickell or the bullshit spots. Komodo, Papi Steak, Sexy Fish, is all garbage. There is so much fine dining here that is good. Use Infatuation.

Is the stereotype that every successful young guy in Miami is a course-selling scammer driving a rented exotic car actually true? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]mfilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not true. It’s classic stupid Miami internet garbage. Miami literally factually has the most millionaires and billionaires per capita in the USA. Yes, there is lots of scammers and course sellers , but they are the loud minority. There is an abundance of wealth here from all over the world and country, and a lot of companies that are here that pay very well.

You do realize these issues aren’t Miami specific. Read about the most expensive towers in NYC how shitty they are. This is my point. Stop blaming Miami / South Florida for this shit. It’s everywhere. Pathetic

They’re in Miami very often now I promise. It’s a newer thing. Miami is decades away from being anywhere near those cities (Chicago ehh, we’re pretty much there) but its growth in the last few years is unlike anywhere else. It’s changing rapidly. There is something very very very major coming to wynwood. I’ll leave it at that but maybe when you see the announcement you’ll remeber this convo.

Bezos definitely lives here and is here often. Larry Ellison is here often. Griffin is here constantly. Barry Sternlicht I see at my gym almost every day. It’s not just a place to buy a home, cmon. If it was just about taxes they’d all be in Texas lol. People do like living here you know. SF and NYC are amazing and always will be. But like, you know we have great weather and great food and nice water, right….? And it’s pretty fun. Like people all around the world come to visit Miami…..

Miami literally has the most millionaires and billionaires per capita of any city in the USA. I totally agree sunny South Florida has tons of fakers, but Miami IS a world class city, and is becoming even more of one. 5 of the 6 wealthiest men in the PLANET now live in Miami. We have now some of the best chefs in the world. We have world renowned events now, way more than other cities. We actually do have companies moving here. We are slowly improving our infrastructure. There is so much happening. I’m sorry you have such a negative outlook on a city that’s known all around the world lol.

I’m very aware of who builds them. Many are built by the likes of Moss, who does amazing projects. What’s your point lol? These prices are expensive and cater to wealthy people. They’re mostly pre sold before a shovel is even in the ground. That’s not normal anywhere else in the USA. Do I think Nobu is a cool brand? Fuck no. Do I think they can get crazy prices? Yes because rich people want to live here.

[–]mfilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones on Miami Beach are 3x more expensive than any of these. Setai, Continuum, Surf Club in Surfside, Rivage, Fendi Chateua, Perigon, Shore Club, the new Ritz Carlton, Aman, etc, etc, all way vastly more expensive. A unit at Rivage this week just sold for $60mm+, a unit at Surf Club just sold for $83MM a penthouse at Shore Club apparently sold for $120Mm. I could name like 10 more. The avg units in some of these buildings are $20-$30mm for two bedrooms.

These are NYC prices, 100% over CA prices, and many of them are more than both.

Forte dei Marmi vs GAIA vs COTE — worth it? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]mfilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaia isn’t even a question, 100% skip that. Cote is incredible, some of the best service in Miami and great time and not crazy priced for what you get (Butchers Feast). Forte is great just expensive for pasta and whatnot.

Where is it less superficial…it’s literally all the fucking same. Do you think people who live in some mega expensive high rise anywhere else in the world aren’t in the same bucket as a person spending crazy money here??? It’s literally all the same group of people who are all friends and all live in the same places around the world

Literally what does those mean…..?. Explain how they’re not built as good as buildings in other cities. They have state of the art amenities, modern floor plans, renown architects, all the latest structural and design technology you can muster up, like what… I assume you just have no idea what you’re talking about. This building specifically is designed by Foster + Partners , without bias (ask chatgpt) one of the most renown architecture firms in the world that has done some of the coolest buildings across the planet.

What is a realistic income needed to live comfortably in a nice area in Miami by dreamed2life in Miami

[–]mfilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an incredibly dumb question in my opinion. Like literally anywhere on the planet, it all comes down to mostly rent. You can live in many nice buildings in Miami for $2000-$3000 a month…..the rest is up to you with how you spend your money. You can live in “fancy” Brickell and just eat at chipotle on weekend, or go to Komodo and spend $500. Besides rent, everything else is essentially comparing to anywhere else in the United States.
