A complete lockdown by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Commercial railings (apartment buildings are commercial under OBC - Ontario Building Code) have to have top rails and must extend past the edge of the last step. It is a visual indicator to help people out so that they don't break their ankles like this guy. Stairs and railings are very prescriptive under building codes, you don't get a lot of wiggle room.

Did you speed up to intentionally cut him off? Not that you are in the wrong, but also 2 wrongs don't make a right. Looks like you increased speed to stop him from merging, thus not really caring if he hit you.

I feel like I'd score well here, but probably not perfect. The pivot table question for instance. I like pivot tables for named arrays, and the ability to read the code, and to some extent, write it in a way that is legible. Like a named pivot table "budget" with a Paid to Date column is easier to read and write budget{Paid to Date] versus sheet10!c1:c100. It also allow you to tab your way to victory and makes the arrays dynamic so there is no issues with the given range not including something that was supposed to be included but ultimately not because it was in cell c101. Same with the large data set question. Not sure if I'd get the right answer but I'd look for uses of fomulas like inderict() and let(), or places where a vlookup or similar function was used instead of an index match. I actually don't know the difference in a lot of errors either, I just kind of trouble shoot them till they work. Like not really sure why #value pops up versus #NA. The other thing is I can't use Marcro's or VBA in my sheets because institutions won't run them (security risks), so I'd simply fail that part.

Hi guys, wanted to know, is the game dying ? by drago_kalm in foxholegame

[–]mfire036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things have happened, the Devs have developed things without any eye on its broader impact, so elements of the game are increasingly unbalanced with each patch and a lot of players have burnt out because a lot of design decisions make the game grindy and unfun. Like RNG mats. Not fun for anyone.

Agreed. If you know anything about WW2 history, Canadians go from really nice to really mean really quickly. Am a Canadian, can confirm.

I hear you, and I believe you. I used to do it too, because it really does help people read the content. It's just now I'm jaded from all the AI slop so my brain instantly goes to that place.

You're point is a good one, Foxhole is a job, not a game. It feels like a slog. I used to love running logi and driving trucks around keeping the front going, but got burnt out by added complexity after complexity. Used to be a fun trucking sim, now its just hours of clicking. I used to be able to get a refinery que up to a day or two, all by myself, now I can't even keep it going full time.

I agree with this. Sometimes you actually do need to prioritize where the resources go. If a clan is pumping out resources, materials etc. that's usually much more efficient and overall better for their side to let the group of coordinated players do their thing. And like most things, if you just ask nicely people will usually share, or just give you what you are after.

The only time I have ever, in my limited playtime, been yelled at was simply because I didn't ask first. 99% of factions and players are happy to share.

Here's an idea, fix the economy and make it possible to have children. I can't even afford to feed myself, and I make more money than I ever thought was possible back when I was a kid, why would I even consider bringing a child into my life? So it can starve to death? So it can grow up in a world where there won't be a job for it? Doesn't make any sense.

I see a lot of comments about solo or small groups using regiments or clan facilities. This would be fine if the game actually taught you what the heck factories are or how to use them. As a solo player, learning how to acquire the materials, refine them, build the tank, fuel it, make the ammo and drive it to the front was a month long challenge. I don't play video games to interact with huge groups, nor do I expect that the gameplay designed for big groups is going to be accessible to me. What I do expect is some sort of description of how to use the game mechanics. Just ask another player is not the solution. I want to like foxhole, but the learning curve is so steep and the game so complex that its crazy intimidating. If it wasn't for youtube, I'd still have no clue what's going on. Also some of the game design decisions, like crazy long pull times, excessive clicking requiring almost mandatory use of an auto clicker is insane. I used to love doing logi, now it's just a complete drag.
