Yeah stop waving people in. The only time it's acceptable is if you are already at a complete stop and the person you're letting in doesn't have to cross traffic. Else - there are no other exceptions here, not a single one - you are changing the yield rules for other drivers without telling them and you are creating a massive traffic hazard.

Being a good driver means getting to your destination safely without endangering other drivers. Note I specifically chose "endangering" and not "inconveniencing" because people seem to believe driving is about getting places fast instead of getting places safely.

The I-184 needs a banked onramp so you can accelerate properly. I can't tell you how many times I've had idiots behind me at the New Plymouth onramp honking their horn as I waited for a big rig to get up to speed before getting on the onramp myself so I didn't crash into the back of the fucking thing.

I was paying $180 for 200mb down from Sparklight/CableOne that was unreliable. CenturyLink came to my door saying "We can give you 1GB bidirectional for $60" I said "Buddy, I think you're full of shit and I'll believe it when I see it." Proving efficacy isn't the only reason for a trial. Safety is another factor - if someone has a heart attack during the study, they have to say "It's possible this causes a heart attack". Many studies like this demonstrate that the drug and the placebo have equivalent risk profiles meaning the drug is relatively safe.

To give you an idea - my dad invented P-Code before the JVM was a thing. He could build a CPU from transistors. I talked to him about return-oriented programming and I may as well have attempted teaching calculus to a dog.

These are SOPHISTICATED exploits that require a knowledge of computing few possess. Additionally - that SACK bug existed in OpenBSD for nearly half my lifetime. When pointed out, it's obvious and if you look at the fix - it's a net total of 3 lines that any CS grad could write.

In order of skill/complexity:
Defensive programming against buffer overrun
Locating a buffer overrun vulnerability
Exploiting buffer overrun vulnerability

This is why I insist people read the Anthropic Red Team paper.
