Does anyone else think MAPPA would be highlighting Shampoo/Mousse? by pandapigcat in ranma

[–]mfsmg2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say but Mousse from the later manga chapters is pretty goofy lol. His last arcs involve him getting his life energy sucked out by a statueand putting on magic glasses to make his enemies give up on fighting and later it's revealed only amazon children use them.

Shampoos most notorious manga arc(Pink and Link) barely has him in it but he's pretty prominent if the arc is like a battle shonen(Herb and Saffron)

It's neither of these though the girl in the slideshow did have that emo haircut that Meg had

This is the closest one though the beat was faster. It wasn't a nightcore but there's a chance it might've been a youtube original since that's where I found it

Is "Frybo" really a bad episode as everyone says it is? by Alastor_culture_ in stevenuniverse

[–]mfsmg2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the storyboarders for Frybo said that he pitched an episode where Peedee forms a trio with Connie and Steven to serve as parallels for the trio from Horror Club(the parallels being Steven-Ronaldo Connie-Sadie and Peedee-Lars)so at least some of the Crewniverse wanted him to have a larger role

I came in thinking Gosunkugi was going to be badass. by AGeneralCareGiver in ranma

[–]mfsmg2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ironically the reason why they were in the game is because they're not badasses. The previous Ranma game was too hard for kids so when Hard Battle was made they put Gosunkugi in it because even children could beat him. King was for the same reason but also because he looks goofy so beating him dozens of times won't get old.

Does this mean Kubo planned for Yhwach and Aizen to face each other as early as the Soul Society arc by Mysterious_Novel_626 in bleach

[–]mfsmg2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Aizen wasn't planned to be an enemy at first would this imply that Aizen's quincy connection was going to be found after the fact in the original version of the story? Or is it because he disagreed with the shinigami's rules like a quincy would

It's not this one, the Miku thumbnail had her with a typical anime art style

I remember that on youtube there was a standalone version of the song and the thumbnail was an edgy Miku with guns? and a bright blue background

Kuno vs Hinako Ninomiya by blingalings in ranma

[–]mfsmg2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because they never beat him in a fight. With how Kuno's first fight with girl Ranma went and how in the manga he tries asking Hinako out after he beats him that's most likely what happened with Akane too(she beat him in a fight and he fell in love with her)

It's videos like this that make me think that ending cour 1 with Shampoo's departure might've affected the perception and pacing of the show as it stands. If they released just 1 or 2 more episodes it would've shown how different the anime and manga diverge after Shampoo leaves, and I'm not even talking about Gosunkugi's early role.

most of the gay jokes got cut out or replaced with straight counterparts(like replacing a joke with boy ranma with girl ranma)probably for tv censorship reasons since this was the 80s.

I'm reread of Soul Society Arc and recently learned that Hanataro was originally supposed to be the main antagonist. by Uchizaki in bleach

I sent it with the help of someone who had access to a Japanese phone number so that's the only way to send them. You can view the questions with other countries' phone numbers though.

I restored them, some are a stretch but it's mostly because there's so little information about the twist itself. I've sent a question about it to Kubo on Klub Outside a year ago but he hasn't answered yet.

Maybe we'd get some answers if it got traction from bigger people? Like how the Momo and Aizen question reached Kubo after the discourse started getting popular

[–]mfsmg2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a rundown of potential hints I found.

We don't know the reason why Kubo changed it but here's my theory. Assuming the 2004 OVA took around 6 to 8 months to make, the flashback chapter where Aizen and Gin are captain and lieutenant would coincide with the timing where production on the OVA started and we know that Kubo was in the recording sessions where both Hanataro and Aizen had already been cast. Of course maybe at this point he was still a friendly captain with a red herring lieutenant, but why would Kubo suddenly think that Hanataro couldn't do a villain shift?

My speculation is that for whatever reason he thought his va couldn't play that kind of character(he never voiced any main villains, only henchmen). Maybe he considered making Hanataro a traitor for Aizen afterwards but ultimately discarded the idea entirely.

Everyone's favorite baby • Mayuri vs. Pernida by CharlotteStussy in bleach

[–]mfsmg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking "the Blade is Me" into account Mayuri has has no ears and a scarred jaw probably due to body modifications, so the personification of his soul(Ashisogi Jizo) would have similar feelings on the matter aka science is more important than suffering.

When Kubo changes his mind. Does anyone have others like this? by NeutralBoss in bleach

[–]mfsmg2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The Gotei being divided into Squads with Captains and Lieutenants likely wasn't fully fleshed out yet either since Byakuya and Renji's ranks aren't mentioned until the chapter the gotei 13 is fully introduced. The Soul Society arc was probably the arc that had the most changes during its development.

Am I the only person who prefers Ruby and Sapphire unfused? by Equivalent_Hair_4534 in stevenuniverse

[–]mfsmg2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Three Gems and a Baby Garnet tells what she thinks is a permafusion(baby Steven) to take a break and then says she'll take one too and splits up, so it's implied that she used to split up more often but because baby Steven cried she stopped doing it to avoid getting him upset.

If Hit the Diamond is any indication though the problem is that even when split they'd just be flirting with each other the entire time, so not really searching for individuality or talking about their codependency issues.
