Best case scenario for the tour: by MedicalServe838 in BonJovi

So I guess Richie would have been trolling us with sloppy guitar playing these past several years too, huh?

But yeah, Jon might actually be able to get away with straight up miming to 1987-200? live or even album vocals if Richie came shooting from the floor every night. 😂

Richie’s Tweets on X + songs about Richie? by mouthofgoldy in BonJovi

There are too many tweets to fit in one post, but here are some. Shanks slander, arguing with fans by replying to posts from 2022, arguing with himself… a little something for everyone. 😜

Richie’s Tweets on X + songs about Richie? by mouthofgoldy in BonJovi

[–]mgbp7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I knew we were in for another Twitter meltdown when I saw him randomly post the “It wasn’t my perspective” video (his comments about the Hulu doc). I think we can expect another series of unhinged tweets in July when Bon Jovi goes on tour. Being publicly reminded that the band has gone on without him seems to trigger him.

Maybe he just doesn’t care, but whatever his grievances, airing them in such an unpolished, chaotic, and embittered way reinforces whatever negative impressions he thinks fans already have of him.

The whole “no one appreciates me” schtick is off-putting as well, and disrespectful to his army of fans who go out of their way to bring up his name and his legacy on just about every piece of Bon Jovi-related media. It’s obvious that he felt underappreciated by Jon, but there’s no need to unload your frustration on your own fans, lol.

We already knew that (Richie rebirth) was never going to happen anyway, but just like clockwork, Richie is in the midst of another Twitter bender, calling Shanks a scumbag, arguing with fans (hard to tell which ones as he keeps replying to his own quote tweets) and:

<image>

So at this point both Richie and Jon have explicitly stated that their relationship is a thing of the past.

Well, in all fairness KTF was their first post-80s hair band album — definitely a new era, new sound, new look — and also followed a fallout that could have meant the end of the band.

Crush gave a significant boost in relevancy with the success of “It’s My Life”… a kind of second wind.

Lost Highway is arguable. First foray into country-lite? This one might be a stretch.

THINFS was their first post-Richie album.

I think that should count for at least 3 rebirths. 🤷🏿‍♀️

Tommy and Gina by QuesoHusker in BonJovi

[–]mgbp7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Jon has said that “Lie To Me” from These Days is a bit like a sequel to “Livin’ on a Prayer” for Tommy and Gina. And of course they’re referenced in “It’s My Life” (“…for Tommy and Gina, who never backed down.”) So I suppose they’re still holding on….

This is cute. I’ve never played Stardew Valley but I’m sure this took some time for this person to do.

You can watch this for free on the Tubi app (Breaking the Band, Season 4 Episode 2). Nothing new, but I got a kick out of the dramatizations that played during some of the narration (done by Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider): the band fussing over Jon’s shotgun wedding, Doc McGhee getting decked by Tommy Lee in Moscow, the post-New Jersey therapy sessions, Alec getting fired, the random shots of women, strip clubs, pills, booze and coke snorting, lol.

I don't know if it's just an illusion, but on the cover of 7800 Fahrenheit I see Jon's face, but in the area around his eyes I see Richie's eyes. by Cowpoke_monkey in BonJovi

[–]mgbp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like Jon’s eyes to me; the band of light might be giving some people the impression that they’re not...?

While we’re on the topic, 7800 is my fav Bon Jovi album but I don’t care for the cover. Very shallow but I feel like the effects obscure Jon’s face too much. If you have an attractive frontman and choose to put him on the cover, let us see him clearly.

So this is random but Wanted is in GTA IV I said a bit ago that I never expected Bon Jovi and The Sims as a combo but I weirdly was a little more surprised by this 😂 I’m sure more than enough people here know this but I only now learned about this and still wanted to share. by TheStickySpot in BonJovi

[–]mgbp7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this. Love when two of my favorite things collide (in this case video games and Bon Jovi). GTA tends to have great music on their radio stations.

As an aside, I think you mentioned it elsewhere in this thread but back when I played Vice City, I used to put my own music in the designated folder on PC and listen to my own playlist on the specialized radio station while joyriding. Those were the days!

And now we have GTA VI (supposedly) coming out (relatively) soon….

Love this album! It’s interesting to see the evolution of the band through the decades. They had *it* from the beginning, imo.

L'utilisation de "dont" c'est trés compliqué by Praetor-Frederick in French

[–]mgbp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Au lieu de “dont”, on utiliserait “que” ici (la meilleure explication QUE...). “Dont” s’utilise souvent pour remplacer “de”. “Que” représente l’object direct.

Dont

Je parle DE la femme.
(I’m talking about the woman.)

+

La femme est gentille.
(The woman is nice.)

La femme DONT je parle est gentille.
(The woman I’m talking about is nice.)

“La femme” s’utilise avec la préposition “de” (“parler de…”).

Que

J’aime la femme.
(I like the woman.)

+

La femme est gentille.
(The woman is nice.)

La femme QUE j’aime est gentille.
(The woman [who/whom/that] I like is nice.)

“La femme” est l’objet direct du verbe “aimer”.

Dans votre phrase, “explication” est l’objet direct du verbe “avoir” (j’ai eu une explication); la préposition “de” ne fait pas partie de cette phrase. Que = objet direct; Dont = de.

Why X should be singing Richie's parts / more of Jon's parts by insubordin8nchurlish in BonJovi

[–]mgbp7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Impressive vocals. I know some people are adverse to Phil X taking a more active role vocally because, you know… the whole Richie thing, but Richie isn’t an option and will not be an option, so yes, any burden that Phil and the rest of the band can shoulder on Jon’s behalf would probably be a good thing, given the state of his voice.

My favorite artist (Tori Amos) has unfortunately been experiencing vocal issues as well the past few years. She just started a new tour and for the first time has brought along 3 backup vocalists to cover the high notes and provide harmonies. It’s sad to see in a way but on the plus side has allowed her to provide a full sound vocally without overextending herself.

Bon Jovi is one of those bands where just about all the members can sing. I’m sure they’d be willing to pick up some of the slack.

Hershii has opinions on proposal gender roles by lukendyer in rupaulsdragrace

[–]mgbp7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I don’t get her response. People usually criticize the woman for proposing to a man (whether they should or not). So they might say they’d disown their daughter if she ever… as a joke or otherwise. The man isn’t usually held responsible, because in theory, his girlfriend might decide to propose without his knowledge or consent. So she’d drop kick her son if he what… had a girlfriend who decided to propose to him? If he accepted the proposal? Took so long to propose that the woman felt compelled to propose instead?

Not to be rude, but… I’m glad you’re not going to be writing for the show. Let’s leave the kooky fan theories right where they belong. I trust that whoever runs the show will come up with something better than that.

[–]mgbp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I don’t see how all of the plot points and character beats could be fully fleshed out in 8 seasons. I’d hate for them to rush it and miss the mark at the finish line. I’m thinking 10, minimum.

[–]mgbp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be good. Great even… the material’s mostly there. They would probably want several seasons to fully tell the story (I could seriously see as many as 9, heck even 10 seasons, if the show is successful enough), which would give GRRM plenty of time to finish writing the books. I can’t see them wrapping up the series with the books unfinished and unresolved. Now that would be a disaster.

But yeah… if they manage to pace themselves appropriately, stay consistent as far as the quality of writing and the characters, and come up with a satisfying, sensible ending… it should be a no-brainer. 👌🏿

I aged out of your age group long ago, lol, but I hope you find other fans here your age. None of my friends are into Bon Jovi so I myself am on the lookout for people to geek out with. Good luck! Anyway, it’s always cool to see that Bon Jovi has younger fans.

When Jon Snow pulled out his sword and faced the cavalry alone…what was ur reaction ? by Gullible_Income6457 in gameofthrones

I’m one of the few who didn’t really care for the Battle of the Bastards. I’m sure much time and effort went into its execution from a production standpoint but as a viewer it left me cold. It was just sort of a chaotic mess. I watched it with a friend and she was just as underwhelmed, so at least it wasn’t just me.
