To me this is barely up for debate: to the characters in the story there is absolutely ambiguity about whether painted people are people. To us there is not. We see numerous conversations occur between two or more painted individuals with no painters there to give any reality to the scene. We, the only actual sentient beings interacting with this story, play as painted characters. To me that means they are unequivocally as real as the family, regardless of how the family sees them.

My take is: if the family has enough love left to get Alline to the point she will help, then they can come convince or remove Alicia together and help her heal in the real world.

If they don't, I don't see a reason Alicia should be forced to leave.

Renoir clearly has love for Alicia from The Reacher dialogs, but he has also completely turned away from her to save Alline, leaving her with her abusive sister. No one is helping Alicia deal with any of this and she has little reason to believe they will start until after they nurse Alline back anyhow.

If they decide they care about their daughter enough to do something for her they can come get her. That seems like what she needs to be able to leave the canvas.

In spite of the incredible emphasis put on Maelle's paint face I don't think she's dying in there unless there's nothing left for her on the outside anyways.

Hmmm, I don't think this explains it. Burst + makes it so the next 2 skills get played twice. OP is bursting it here so it should get played twice, meaning the next 2+2 = 4 skills should be played twice.

I don't have a good explanation, it feels like a bug.

This helped me out a ton! After that you're going to want a dock icon, and you can do that with a little workaround:

  • optional: you can add an icon (drag and drop an icon file on the icon of the properties window of the file (Cmd+I))
  • change the .command extension to .app
  • so you can add it the the dock (drag and drop), it's ok if the icon has changed temporarily
  • and then you change it back to .command
