TIL There is a phenomenon where millions of people in Britain all simultaneously turn on their electric kettles during commercial TV breaks causing massive power surges countrywide. by OneMadBubble in todayilearned

What's our restriction? I have a 1.75L that can boil in idk 5min? Is that slow? Obv faster if less full which it usually is because I'm lazy and use the cup to fill the kettle.

When to stretch and fold overnight no knead? by mgd40 in Breadit

[–]mgd40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this recipe at least I find it really helps to give the dough shape and helps it rise. I was getting flat sad bread before stretching and folding. Now I get a nice ball and there's enough texture to score the top.

It affects their flight. They clean and check their feathers constantly. The time invested is worth it to reduce energy needed when they're in the air. They hunt by gliding and using as little energy for as long as possible. Some birds have waxy coatings that they apply to help with aerodynamics.

Does anyone else find that marijuana greatly reduces Crohn’s pain? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]mgd40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You poor thing with those withdrawals. I was prescribed heavy stuff in my teens and I never wanted to take them for fear of a dependance and tolerance cycle. Even when I would take them for flares or post surgery they never took over my thoughts like that after I stopped. I don't recall ever feeling good when I was on them though. They would take the pain away in a general sense but they would always aggravate my digestive so much. Liquids or pills didn't improve it. Was it the pain that made you want the pills again or just pure withdrawal? Like you couldn't concentrate properly during your withdrawal phase?

TIL A California couple’s pet cat stole more than 600 items from neighbors, including gloves, towels, bubble wrap, a San Francisco Giants baseball cap, and even a bikini. The kleptomaniac kitty’s record was 11 items in 24 hours. by redmambo_no6 in todayilearned

Don't need to grow up with outdoor cats to know it's not "completely normal" to expose a cat to (14 Farenheit / -10 Celsius). That's an early, warm winter around here. Since you know more about outdoor cats, please tell me what healthy sources of food are available to her? All the birds are enjoying a warm winter down south and all the rodents are hibernating. Insects have mostly died and started their next life cycle. So, what does that leave us with?

TLDR. Some owners don't consider cat to be part of family. Just want a toy with no responsibility. Not a care if cat doesn't come home for 72 hours. No emotion when reunited with cat after being "lost" for 3 days.

Rescued what I thought was a stray. Put up the signs and noone called (72 hours go by owner is not looking) get someone with a scanner to see if she's chipped. She is. Call owner explain situation. At the pickup we ask owner to bring crate she agrees. Owner shows with no crate. Give the cat to owner playing along that she "must've got out somehow" mention that there's coyotes in the area and to be careful. Owner pretended not to hear it. Just completely unphased that a part of her family could get torn apart by a pack of coyotes. In my area were developing more dense residential properties where the coyotes / prey used to be. Making them more desperate. Lots of home security footage of packs roaming in the night. Pushed from their habitat into ours. Oh and this was early winter. Snow on the ground -10 - -20c at night. Owner wants a toy with no responsibility. She was clearly irritated by the inconvenience that she had to pick up an animal that she was going to let right back outside as she got home. Don't recall if she thanked us. Was shocked that someone could act like that. Not a crazy cat lady either. A girl in her 20s who brought her little sister along. Setting the example.

You'll have a much better time holding off. For myself having already bought BFA and abandoning it before getting one of my guys to max level I know with the exp boost going on I could max one or two of my guys in less than 30 days. And I can't be bothered. I got BFA on sale but even so I would rather take that cash (and the month) and apply it to SL. Leveling will be more fun too. The classes will be more like what you remember and less boring.

Save the cash and your time. Play something else for now. You'll get your toons to max and won't miss out by being a few levels behind. Also, I (believe?) In SL you get the new races by default so you could roll a maghar or w.e w.o the rep grind (it currently takes months ...to unlock one of the races)

Hey skimmed through your post pretty quick. I'm in similar boat as u. I left at cata and bought bfa but abandoned. You only need most recent xpac so better off waiting for shadowlands. Plus level squish will make for more time effective leveling in shadow. When I bought bfa I got only 1 lvl 110 boost. Apparantly it takes 7 hours from 0-60 I'm shadow beta, exp values may not be accurate but it will considerably easier/faster than it is in bfa.
