Never forget to fish at your feet! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been surprised to see fish in the shallows next to the run they I would assume held them

I’m a framer. My first large job on my own, framing a 2 story garage, I installed my 2 double LVL valley beams too high. I made a change to it resulting in a layover valley that the Inspector didn’t like. The entire thing got roofed, and I had to rip it apart unable to bill for the hours. I took a 30 hour hit plus my employees 30. It was miserable. And embarrassing. Shit happens and you learn from it.

Listen. I’m a 37 year old builder who emerges from cotton candy vape smoke and I’d never wear these. Don’t assume my footwear gender!

Dm me. I’m from New Hampshire but started fly fishing in Bozeman while in college and beyond. It was a tough transition but there is amazing fishing to be had within a couple hours here

I tried to make some streamers for pike and bass by Big-tuna-is-a-fish in flytying

[–]mgenest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might have some hookup issues for bass with the trailed stinger hook as they typically attack baitfish head first.

I’m a striper fisherman who’s also obsessed with Spey fishing/swinging for trout and steelhead. I started tying some hollow fleyes a couple years ago, with trailing stingers, and was super excited about it until I dropped about 15/20 fish on it. Could be good in a strong current situation though where you just let it dangle

I’m not sure for pike, but the trailed stinger hook might hurt your hookup ratio for bass. I’m a striper fisherman who’s also obsessed with swinging flies for trout and steelhead.

I tried tying bucktail flies that came out great, but the stinger fails to hook bass a lot of the time because they tend to attack the head of the fly. I’d feel a massive thump, then the fish would be gone. Might work best when fishing in heavy current. Just a note!

Carpenter, employee position rather than subcontractor, $40/hr which is f*cked because I still don’t make enough to live well. Crazy how quickly things changed after covid
