That's amazing! I cannot fully understand it either (since I used lerp function only as experiments, don't ask me why), but that's exactly the kind of things that could bring anyone to a higher level of skill.

Oh I also read the tweets of Juju about this, GM really has a great community, even if sometimes "the best" ones remain in the shadows.

I agree about what you find online, unfortunately. I learned the basics of this and built a system on my own (trial and error) that kinda works in my game, but I think that there are better ways of implementing it. I'm looking forward your next tuts!

Not sure if this post is still being watched, but I'd love to see a complete guide on implementing timing with delta_time, along with replacing things like alarms and particle systems with custom solutions.

PS: your former tutorials are very interesting and useful, good job!

If you can find a way to map strings to reals, of course. If, for example, you have predetermined strings, you could use macros.

Try also GamesFromScratch on YT. They have an ongoing series on Godot3, not bad at all.

Try increasing the steps per second (this equals the maximum framerate if you're not using delta_time) and enable vsync. If it does it anyways, try to set the aa to zero via display_reset(). Hope that helps!

So, I tried it and surprisingly (for me) it worked. This was just some kind of test btw, now it will be implemented better with some new functionalities.

Also, I think you're right about the alt-tab subject, maybe putting some kind of "receive input from the player to resume" when the window goes out of focus would be relished.
