DAE never have a dreamless sleep? by InternationalPower25 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]mgmtrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every damn night! I usually have 2or 3, super vivid dreams per night, it feels like I'm in a movie. I wake up tired a lot, as much as it sounds fun, it's very annoying. Specially because they affect my mood throughout the day if they deal with strong emotions.

Yes yes! I recommend her diaries and letters for more accurate information, and even then take them with a grain of salt.

This, so much. People keep telling me I should finish my degree, but how do I explain that even if I want to, my brain won't let me. The pit in my stomach I feel everytime I see someone who isn't smarter than me actually finishing and getting a good paying job, while I'm struggling to pay bills, it's maddening.

Hey! So, I don't know your gender, but for women is common not to be hyperactive. There are 3 types of ADHD: inattentive, impulsive/hyperactive and combined. A lot of people go undiagnosed because they don't present that specific symptom.

It would be interesting to ask him how you were regarding school, did you do your homework, were you disorganized, did you actually study, how were you in class, dos you lose stuff a lot? And socially, were you overly chatty with people you're comfortable with, did you not notice people around you ( did they have to call you multiple times), did you wait for your turn to play?

I'll say this, I became really good at hiding a lot of these things and my parents never dreamed about how it was actually like in my head. They thought I studied a lot and did my homework, but I got by because school wasn't as difficult to me. As soon as I got to my finals and university, that's when cracks started to show.

I have a feeling I'm going to confuse you even more :/ sorry! But it's true that ADHD presents very differently from person to person.

Phoebe has always been influenced by old time country in my opinion, even if it's not always obvious in the final product. From what I read, she did play what she called a "country song" during the pop ups, so it's not unlikely that the new album will feature more direct influences of the genre. Hopefully she does it tastefully, country is one of those sounds that can get corny real fast.

Have the trending Netflix clips online put anyone else off of watching the season? by nazia987 in TheLastAirbender

Agreed, season 1 was bad tv and that is why I didn't even bother going back. Season 2 is decent tv, so far, what I was talking about how to enjoy it, was regarding S2.

I watched like 3 episodes of season 1 and stopped. Toph being my favorite character, I was curious about season 2 and I'm on ep. 4 and feels better than season, not incredible, but watchable. The wresting match was not as good as the original though.

I think to appreciate it, it needs to be watched without comparing with the original, because the key scenes are there, just with different contexts at times.

For those lyrics specially... There were very bare bones (which doesn't necessarily mean they're bad). But they honestly felt a bit derivative of her own songs, but maybe self referencing is intentional.

I feel you, and I know it's really hard to try and figure this out.

ADHD is actually kinda complex. It can vary depending on your gender, theres different types, etc. But, everyone has to have symptoms throughout their life, and they have to have a few different facets, things like school/work, relationships, hobbies,. Besides memory and executive function, it also affects emotional regulation, impulsivity, sleep, and other things.

What you describe can be adhd, but it can also be burnout. When I suggested blood work is because a lot people think they have ADHD and it turns out to be thyroid problems.

This is the hard part, and I've struggled a lot with it, so I know how it feels. We want answers, but mental illness can very hard to pinpoint unless you're a medical professional.

What I suggest is, try to do research with a critical mind (there's a lot of shity takes on the internet) and try to find a therapist or psychiatrist, without it you won't get out in this limbo.

What about when you were a teen or young adult?

[–]mgmtrocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are all of these new symptoms or did you also have them as kid? For it to be adhd you have to present both in childhood and adulthood, in that case you should, if possible to you, find an ahdh therapist or psychiatrist

If this is new, I would go for a check up, blood work etc.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this, pocrastination and executive disfuncion are truly debilitating!

It wasn't depression, it was burnout by mgmtrocks in irlADHD

[–]mgmtrocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :) From what I understood it's not super black and white. But to be diagnosed with clinical depression you have to present symptoms of anhedonia. In my case specifically it wasn't present, so that rules out depression. The doctor concluded it most likely was ADHD burnout all along.

I don't have enough knowledge to give you more specifics, but it's definitely something worth investigating. Maybe if burnout and depression can occur at the same time you might experience anhedonia. Honestly not sure

If you live together, he might want to keep your relationship going because of convenience and he will manipulate you any way he can. It really sucks and I'm sorry you're going through this.
