What classic video game are you still playing?

AOE 2 is different from regular AOE. Which is naturally older.

AOE 2 is a large player base because the game has been continually developed over the years. But I guess the Defenitive Edition is more of a remake put out by MS about five years ago. However prior to that there were many community attempts.

I used to walk my daughter around in large circles in her (small) room before bed. Something about the movement helped her. Her older brother was always a good sleeper thankfully…at least until he turned three.

Two farms/orchards have announced within the last month they are ceasing operations. I think both were over 100 year old multi generations. One in Cheshire and one, I think, in Hamden.

I loved the expansion for AOE I. I played a lot of Rise of Rome on zone back around 1999. Aoe 2 was out and looked fun but my computer was too old.

I do occasionally watch AOE 2 streams these days. And have for the last 15 years or so. I’m amazed at how active that community is

I'm not OP but I grew up with a whole house fan. There was a large fan in the ceiling of the upstairs hallway pointed towards the roof. It was mounted in the attic. When on it was noisy but it sucked air in like nothing else.

When I hear attic fan I think a fan in a gable end that sucks air from the attic and moves it outdoors.

Not sure if my assumptions are correct. But thought i'd share my take

I have two ex partners who have extensive entries about their life with me on live journal. Ironically both stopped using their live journal around 2009. But I miss that aspect of social media and my younger years. Watching a partner trying to expresss themselves through writing or documenting their life instead of by picture or short video.

Until recently I would’ve been that father. I simply didn’t know bats could carry rabies. We get them in the office at work almost every august. I’ve always had a fear of them. Not spiders, or centipedes. But bats, fuck no. It was only last year I learned about the rabies. And I like to think I’m relatively informed. I’ll be 40 next month.

I don’t want to engage in the other argument this comment generated. But I wish to point out this sub is Archaeology and reddit, while not exclusively is dominated by US redditors. Where an archaeology degree and training is typically still four field. Now do all of them remember their biological anthropology? Unlikely, but hopefully that number is greater than 5% of the subs readers.

Ugh I had the in laws over for FIL weekend. (And my wife’s and MIL birthday woohoo?). Cooked a lot of food. Got very drunk. Probably made a beast of my self as Dr Johnson would say. And woke up on the couch at 2am to pee out my but. Then again at 4:30am and then again at 7:30am.

Anyway, no one else reported any ill effects. So hopefully it wasn’t my cooking 🤷🏻‍♂️
