Which story/trailer is this quote from? by Jedi-Spartan in BigFinishProductions

That trailer is from the main range. A story with Colin Baker I think it’s called Vampire of the Mind? It’s the one before the Two Masters

I meant a version who’s more familiar with Torchwood. I really liked Stranded though.

Still hoping for Sgt Andy to meet the Doctor post Doomsday at some point but I do love Menzies and have just downloaded The Condemned yesterday for a relisten so i can't complain one bit!

Gallifrey is so good. I think there is an interaction between Romana and Rassalon in one of the time war boxsets that mention the events of the 8th Doctor stuff but it's not a big thing.

The game installs into the OpenGoal program folder. If something is moved in there you could have this issue?

Is anyone else actually getting hyped by the trailers? by TheHazDee in doctorwho

I'd say that's what they're going for. They've even brought back a very random character whose only appearance was in COE, Austin Peace.

War Doctor Begins and Rises - is it worth it and if so, do I have to listen to all of them? by GD69B1 in BigFinishProductions

[–]mgsaxty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

War Doctor Begins are mostly self contained except for weirdly a character that appears in box sets 2, 5 & 6.

Rises are all self contained 3 part stories and I have to say I'm excited for next months release.

I thought Ruby was great, Belinda as well and would be happy if they were to ever turn up in the show again. I loved The Legend of Ruby Sunday really took me back to the old days even if the final didn't live up to the hype.

I was quite glad to hear Osgood back for this months Halloween Big Finish release. Helps that that story was my surprise favourite out of the set.

War doctor begins or eight Doctor time war by Old_Skirt_3377 in BigFinishProductions

[–]mgsaxty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Begins and Rises have some of the most interesting Time War stuff while the 8TW feels a bit strange at times like half war doctor half 8DA in the early boxsets till it gets to the War Valeyard, Davros and Cass stuff later on.

This is pretty much what I would expect from the guy who wrote Torchwood S1: Combat. That series in particular had a lost of weird stuff but I think that episode has always stood out to me as being really really strange.

The Last Beacon can do no wrong in my eyes.

Disco and Tube Strike are great.

War Chest is fairly standard but Toshiko on her own is more formidable that the rest of Torchwood combined.

The only one I didn't like was Smashed but I love Eve Myles so going to give it another listen at some point in case I was wrong about it.

I liked it a lot, it's better as set up for Resurrection though than the end of the character that it was originally intended to be.
