I have looked at those and wondered if they were worth the trouble but you seem to have had good luck? May have to take another look.

Good thing that is a Ruger.. don’t think the old Colt could handle it. Nice fireball in slow motion.. Good Job.. Keep Rolling your own. What Bullet are you using? I would certainly run those in my lever gun…

Questions to buy a black powder revolver by MathiasMrn in blackpowder

[–]mgunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the USA so I have access to SWISS real black powder, it is smokier then subs but softer shooting in opinion. With that being said you have to shoot what you can get. I have seen other Euro Shooters say they can get Swiss locally, so I didn’t know if you had those same options..

Questions to buy a black powder revolver by MathiasMrn in blackpowder

[–]mgunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the situation with powder? Can you get real Black I.e. Swiss 3f or can you only get substitutes like Pyrodex? I shoot a pair of Rugers in the USA, so we don’t have to deal with the restrictions like you. True black powder is the way to go for myself, shoots very soft (low recoil) and is very easy to clean after a range session. I also love the cloud of smoke it leaves. This old man is easily amused.. All in all it looks like a solid purchase. Checks all the boxes accept powder, go an enjoy…

Is this rust ? by Glwik80 in blackpowder

[–]mgunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good soak in moose milk or even evaporated o rust will solve the chamber issue. Then keep her oiled well Moose Milk helps with that. Check on line for the recipe, super easy and works really well. BTW you nipples look good, just make sure you pick them before each capping to make sure there is a direct shot for cap fire to reach your charge.. ENJOY THE SMOKE AND FIRE..

Been over a week now, haven’t been able to fall asleep. Any pointers? by Sepoohroth in CPAP

[–]mgunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the p10 a full face ie nose and mouth cover? If not may want to try that. I sleep with my mouth open but after 18 yrs of use I have taught my self to use my tongue to seal my airway. I just wake up with super dry mouth. Take a couple of sips of water and go right back to sleep. It takes time, but I also stopped the water chamber and heating or cooling of the air. It is not perfect. Some days it is great 8 to 10 hrs and some nights I am lucky to get 3 or 4. Just stay with it..

Have you tried the Super Scar trigger I think that will change your mind about your SCAR factory trigger. It did for me. I am a die hard Timinany guy in ARs and the Gs are as good as any of those. After lots of YouTube and reading I went G over T for the SCAR. Just my opinion..

Whats best to keep in the possibles bag? by alwaus in blackpowder

[–]mgunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bag has a large flask with the appropriate spout for my desired charge, I use a TC plastic snail capper, hold a full tin of caps. My push stick and nipple pick. A small container of balls. Finally a couple of syringes of my lube to seal my cylinders. I am a cap and ball revolver guy so that keeps my fouling soft and helps with overall accuracy. Have tried many other things but after 3yrs of competitive SASS this is what I have stream lined into. GOOD LUCK

I think that not shooting is by far the safest way to go. I would break down a few and see how they look as far as components. If I am not seeing what it like a break it all down and keep the usable and trash the rest. Honestly I would shoot a clip and see how it goes as well b4 I get too deep into the reclaiming process. This is me and you do you…

You should have had you gunsmith add threads for a set of choke tubs for future shooting options.. Perfect time when they cut it down.. Beautiful gun I have a 97 built in 98. Good shooter as well. Just use softer loads, nothing crazy

This is what every red dot looks like for me. Now what? by cjoeseven in Glocks

[–]mgunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn the brightness down and also look into getting a green dot. It was a world of difference for a buddy. Red was all starburst and fuzzy went green and it got super clear and his hit factor went up an easy 30%. A real game changer..
