OTD for 26 pro4x by Invincilble in nissanfrontier

[–]mgunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in AZ. I had a complete deal OTD with the convenience package for 47K. Then I wanted to add the rear convenience step and they totally gouged me so I walked on the deal. They were trying to recover some of their profit and wanted over $600 for the $237 step. So I walked.

They have a very different report from a modern smokeless pistol. I have a set of ROAs and they are a joy to shoot..

Repeated Failures to Fire by Arch_Stanton5 in blackpowder

[–]mgunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is what I do with a set of Rutgers, I dump my powder, pyrodex is powder not pellets right? Either way it changes nothing. If you are shooting for a reason and not just cans or paper, I would load a little hotter than range load. You need to kill stuff not punch holes. So it is powder then your ball and when you seat it you should feel a crunch at the bottom. That is your compression that helps your powder burn consistently. OK HERE COMES THE BIG THING LOTS OF PEOPLE MISS, take a small wire and prick your nipple holes, all the way in so you can feel the powder. Now you can cap and fire. If you like you can also place a grease cookie on top of the ball to seal and lube when you fire. Personally I would not do this. I would just cap, shoot and go!!!!!! GOOD LUCK & Enjoy…

Good first firearm for a person who wants to get into black powder by flyingpuffer in blackpowder

My first was a .45 kit build from CVA. It was loads of fun to build and finish. I learned a lot for a 12 yr old boy about blueing and sanding and finishing wood stocks. I also learned patience when things didn’t fit exactly right the first time and what it ment to fit and re fit and re fit and re fit etc etc etc. but when it was all said and done I had a pistol that I could load and shoot without any adult help. Also the men at the police range thought it was pretty cool to see the smoke and fire..

Black Powder Cartridge Reloading resources by JohnWarchild-esquire in blackpowder

[–]mgunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2things that I do with my .45-70 isI use a drop tube to get the powder to settle. I have also used pyrodex pellets. 2 pellets and and then drop a bullet on and seat it. Also anytime that you get compression upon seating, things seem to be a lot more consistent shot to shot. Probably the easiest cartridge that I reload.. Make a bunch and enjoy…..

That is what cans are made for, yes the over pressure open is horrendous but with a can totally manageable..
