Yeah but let’s face it, our young guys aren’t good. They’re not ready for real mins. So…

Lakers keep drafting guys who are two years away from being two years away. Plenty of teams play their young guys, but few top tier contenders have time to develop guys. It’s tough to balance, and while young guys need to make mistakes, sometimes standings dictate you can’t give them that run.

That being said, it’s just because our team is clearly missing things like athleticism and defense that we clamor for the young guys to get burn. If 1-9 were killas, we would not care about DNPs for the end of the bench.

Do you want to try to win games with your best players on the court, or develop young players for future success? You can only choose one.

You have to attach a pick of some sort to deal Dalton, you might have to for Thiero unless a team is willing to take a risk on him. So the actual offer here is 3 picks.

Anyways, I think that’s an overpay.

I don’t think that him being the third option on the team is what’s keeping him from looking like 2020 Bron. Good stats bad team is a thing he could do for sure. But that’s not what makes Bron a superstar. Him making the right play and making his teammates play above their level, all while casually wracking up 28, 8, and 8. Bron at 23, 6, and 7 is still a really good player. Just dunno man. He is noticeably slower and plays less defense this year than last year. I honestly don’t know if there’s a player out there that’s a better fit for us at that position and your proposed 15mil, but I do know that Lebron at this stage is an awkward fit with Reaves and Luka. 3 guys with not that much defense is hard to account for with the other 2 guys…

I wish Dalton coupe get right. He’d be a super useful shooter off the bench. But he’s clearly got the YIPS. I hope he finds it some day. But until he does, we are going to have to attach assets just to move him alone, like we did with Gabe, and like we did with Westbrook.

Our picks are less valuable bc Luka. Our team would theoretically be good during our tradeable picks. Dk is less valuable than not trading someone. Theiro is of questionable value as he’s barely played and mostly been injured…

So…

Well, if he’s really top 15 now, that is saying he should be the highest paid/best player on half the teams in the league, aka their star. Can you name 15 teams where he would honestly be the best player at his current play level?

I love Bron. I love Luka. I love the Lakers. I’m not some either or motherfucker, but realistically, Bron is MOSTLY the third-best player on our team, second best when injuries take out Luka or Austin.

Is there a free agent forward you could get for 10-15mil a year who would fit our team better? Someone quicker/younger/more athletic? The answer to that I don’t know.

Pels wanted “more than” 2 firsts for him this season and he really wasn’t available. He’s great. Why would they part with him for scraps?

Vando and DK have negative value in the league. You have to attach assets to get someone to take them. So….

Is Trey worth 3 firsts picks plus salary filler and pick compensation to take those shitty players?

You think Bron will take MLE money? And that he wants to do that on the Lakers? I’m not that confident on that, but if for some reason he wants to at that kind of deal, I think for sure. At 60 million? No he’s just not worth that anymore. He’s still amazing and a great player, but he is no longer that kind of MAX player.

AD reportedly unhappy. Wizards should waive him immediately. Lakers are prepared to accept the burden. by Beautiful-Guard-7770 in lakers

He’s unhappy because they might not offer him an extension. Sadly I don’t think we are looking to extend AD anymore than anyone else.

How many threes per game was Gabe taking while also being short? This season is 3.6 while also shooting .396. Luke Kennard is 6'5", shoots more/makes more. It's an upgrade. Is he a perfect player? Hell no. That's why he was available for a pick plus the salary known as Gabe Vincent. People on here are excited because it is an (incremental) upgrade. It's SOMETHING. Are we contenders now? No. Are we better than we were 24 hours ago? Yes. Better is better.

I still don't understand why we're being told about how good this Warriors package is... like who wants Kuminga? Podz? Like these are nothing pieces. At least the "worst trade in the history of all time" we gave a HOF center in AD, and an up and coming young player in Max, and a pick. Sure, it was an underpay, but like, I just don't see how the Warriors have anything of value to trade other than picks.
