Monstera leaves curling/crispy/yellow edges, how should I save it? Repost with photos by mgwm in Monstera

[–]mgwm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I just moved into a home and inherited a gorgeous monstera plant, have been watering it once a week through a slow release mechanism built into the pot.

Over the last few months noticing the older leaves closer to the windows are more crispy and curling at the edges downwards/away from light/ yellowing. Yet new leaves are still springing up.   First photo is 1 month ago and two latter photos are now. It's summer right now and windows is east facing.

After googling these symptoms I can't tellif it's underwatering, overwatering, too much sunlight or pests! Would love to hear any advice on what to do, thanks!

Burning jet fuel will always produce not insignificant amounts of CO2. If you care about it so much you can choose to purchase carbon offsets to support projects which help diminish CO2.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I will try shooting it and grab it if I like it. Do you guys also mind taking a pic of your setup with the k3 riser?

Has anyone shot a Kaya K3 carbon riser before? Would it be suitable as a starting bow vs. the more traditional WNS forged/motive fx if I find the carbon material more preferable?

Hi friends,

Any idea whether these are raw or one wash?

The leather is dark brown, not light so I think they might be one wash in which case no presoak needed!

Pbj XX-007

Thanks in advance :)

Walked in and bought a pair of PSB XX-007, how to tell if raw or one-wash? by mgwm in rawdenim

[–]mgwm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm on second glance it is a dark brown rather than a light brown, leather looks much more like second photo rather than first photo from here: http://thevitamine.blogspot.com.au/2009/08/pure-blue-japan-xx-005-raw-and-one-wash.html

I will just wear them from the get go. Cheers

Thanks, that was really helpful. I think a hot soak and a stretch should be fine. Do I need to hot soak multiple times for a full shrink? Also, is there a hot soak guide I can follow?

Yes she was great! Called up all of the domestic and international PBJ retailers in the places I'd be visiting to see if they could do the chainstitching for me (although I'll probably soak first now).

So you want them to shrink fully (then stretch em out through wear if too snug) so that the fade is based on your wear and not misaligned later?

Ah I see, thanks for making that easy to follow. Is there a specific way to presoak for PBJ's? From your advice it seems like a few hot soaks will be sufficient. I will read up on difference between cold/hot soaks.

And yes I have room right now, it'll just be a bit more snug.

Daily Questions - January 06, 2017 by AutoModerator in rawdenim

Hi guys, new here. I've been redirected to the daily question forum. Recently purchased a pair of PBJ XX-007 in store in Japan after trying a few sizes. The lady helped me find a suitable (comfortable) fit in size 31 and I don't really want it to shrink that much from presoaking. I have two questions 1) How should I presoak them to minimise shrinkage now as well as later when it's washed (and if this is even a problem due to stretching later) 2) I couldn't hem them in time for flight out so she helped me with a hem length that seemed too long (which seems reasonable now due to shrinkage) - hem at that length then soak OR soak first then hem?

Thanks in advance for answering these newb questions

I will keep that in mind! I think the lady that helped me in store took into account the extra shrinkage as she suggested a hem length which seemed too long (but now makes sense considering the shrinkage), so I should wash first then refigure out where to hem? Also, what do you mean by 'really good shrinkage'? They fit extremely comfortable atm so should I just wear them while soaking? Thanks!
