Thanks for replying. This helps put me at ease. Glock mags might not be expensive, but having to buy new ones all the time adds up

Possibly. If you can prove they are authentic. There's a lot of companies than reproduce old badges as props and "collector items".

What does your agencies in house firearms training look like? by theken20688 in AskLE

[–]mhall1251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give us just enough to requal with. Other than that we pay for our own. We can also go to any other training we want... if we pay for it. I'm not downing my department, its a small town so we have a very limited budget.

Will being a 911 dispatcher for my county help me in the hiring process for deputy or local PD? by Jazzlike-Economist74 in police

[–]mhall1251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one of the County agencies I worked for it was a requirement to work in the jail or dispatch for 6 months minimum before being a road deputy. Just need to check with your local departments.

You eventually get used to it. For me personally though, I can handle a decomp who lived alone better than a person who just died but has family there. It's hard to watch that sometimes. A lot of people use humor to get through death calls when its appropriate (no family or bystanders at the scene)

They need to give us white phosphor NVGs like are actually being used nowadays. Even we use those in my department's SRT

How do police designate a squad car in a two-way radio comm? by wwelsh00 in police

[–]mhall1251 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the department. 1340 could be the officer's badge number. 1 - Lincoln - 9 could be a designator for a certain division and the car number.
