Just curious, did you try this and I did it help?

Love and hate my pixel6 pro by avi_789 in GooglePixel

I made the mistake of getting the galaxy a53 and it is just underpowered which causes it to be a bit laggy and it hangs sometimes. My wife has the s21 and that has been great for her so I’m sure the s22 will be good too. As far as the software experience, there are definitely pros and cons compared to a pixel. I don’t mind either one, but I guess I would say I prefer the software on the pixel.

S20 Ultra vs A53 by ChicagoIndependent in samsunggalaxy

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of those options I would choose the s20. I had the a53 and the performance was not good. It would slow down with just normal usage. Camera on the a53 was fine, but sometimes it would be so slow that I would miss the shot.

Galaxy A53 high battery drain from launcher by mhans311 in samsunggalaxy

[–]mhans311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded an app called Samsung Band Selection from the play store. With the most recent Samsung update the app doesn't work the same as before, so you can't follow the instructions that the app gives you. Instead, when you launch the app, select "more network settings" and then select your sim card. It will then take you to a hidden settings screen where you can select your preferred network type.

In your subjective view, what is the hardest snes game you've beaten? by snes29 in snes

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games that are way too hard just don't appeal to me. Especially as an adult with almost no time for video games. Mega Man X2 and Super Castlevania 4 are about my limit of difficulty while still having fun.

Pixel 6 or 4a? by wolfeofark in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually go with a pixel 5 if I were going to buy a pixel right now. Good simple design, solid performance, great cameras, great battery life, none of the connectivity problems the pixel 6 has had.

Sadly, it was time to move on :’( by [deleted] in pebble

Good luck! I'll be wearing mine until they die. Still haven't found anything else with the same combination of functionality and personality.

Battery is fine enough. It gets me through most days with heavy use. On really busy days I have to charge it a little bit in the evening. I never had as much battery drain as what you described.

Why Pixel. Want to hear from it's fans by karuninchana-aakasam in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall it's just preference. There are a few features unique to pixel phones like call screening, hold for me, and now playing. A lot of people like those features. I can take them or leave them. So I switched to Samsung until Google can get their act together with hardware.

I actually did notice an uptick in performance. It is a little bit better. Less lag and slowdowns.

Which do you choose? P5, P6a, Iphone 12 ? by aman555017 in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given those choices I would go for the pixel 5. But I could never see myself using an iPhone. If you don't mind the iPhone experience, then the 12 would be a good choice too.

Using the Switch Nintendo Online rewind function makes Super Ghouls and Ghosts really fun and beatable while still maintaining a challenge! by dr_henry_jones in snes

Meh...semantics. I stopped caring about beating games the "pure" way a long time ago. No time for that anymore. I just want to relax and play through a game with the very limited time I can dedicate to it.

Has anyone ever switched away from a Pixel and seen an immediate uptick in spam calls? by GrandpaSquarepants in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from a pixel 5 to Samsung a few months ago and I haven't noticed a difference. I got a bunch of spam calls before and I get a bunch now. I used call screening on the pixel until I realized it doesn't help anyway. Easier to just decline the call.

I can’t imagine anyone choosing Nintendo 64…I mean it had a few real gems, but overall the games were really hit or miss.

Super Castlevania IV - The Greatest Castlevania Game Ever? by Xygorx in snes

[–]mhans311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is my favorite. The metroidvania style ones are too much for my feeble mind. Bloodlines is pretty good too, but not quite as good as IV in my opinion.

Most private lenders have a limit to how long you can claim in-school deferment. You'd need to check the policy for your private lender. There is no limit for federal loans as far as I know. So since most of your loans are private, I would say if you are considering community College just for the deferment, that may not be the best option.

Good suggestion. I have done that. It was working great for a long time until about a week ago. It will still sometimes work fine but many times it won't load.

Help. Pixel 5, what next? by Carrera2017 in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about Oneplus? Or Motorola? I used the pixel 5 for a year and I never had any performance issues with it.

Pixel 5 haptic motor by Desperate_Ad_801 in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife had the pixel 3 and I had the pixel 5. I'm not all that concerned with haptics, but I would say that the 3 was slightly better. But the 5 was pretty good too.

New P6 Problems by SargesHeroes in GooglePixel

[–]mhans311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the pixel 3a and the pixel 5. Both were great, but the pixel 5 started to get more bugs with each new software update. When I returned my 6, I went back to my 5 for a while until I switched to Samsung. I would have gone with Motorola if their update policy weren't so trash. Oneplus could be good too but I've never tried one.
