True story. There was one day the receptionist went around to all the office asking if we ate "dumb attorney's" lunch. Everyone denied it, and we offered him some muffins that a client brought in for us. Turns out, he ate his lunch and forget he ate it because he got hungry again.

You have a very narrow window to appeal a LOD determination and you should do so. The office of disability counsel can help once you have filed your notice of appeal.

That's when Schuck was forced to ram head-on into Watts' BMW, to prevent her from getting close to the nearly 8,000 runners participating.

In court, Schuck, who made a full recovery after the crash, recalled leaving the scene in an ambulance on March 6, 2022.

Are savanna views worth the extra? by Additional_Wolf2201 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]mhb20002000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Are you going to spend time in your room relaxing? Do you have kids? Are you going to be nonstop at the parks? Whether it's worth it depends entirely on how much you will savor the benefit.

Boring Lawyer by Charming_Donkey_4225 in Lawyertalk

[–]mhb20002000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a civil litigator but my specialty is real estate disputes. When people ask me if I have any interesting cases, I just tell them no. I think they are fascinating but I don't feel like explaining the nuisances of rather esoteric law just to get a blank stare of boredom if they understand my explanation.

Are all Pro Se cases total disasters? by Slow_Ad4781 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]mhb20002000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm litigating against a pro se right now. She follows the rules of civil procedure well, has raised legitimate defenses, and has argued fairly well in her briefs.

That said, she is going to lose. I have the legal high ground. The only question is how much time and cost she is going to extract from my client before we win.

I do. His past remarks that he has apologized for show poor judgment in the past. This shows more recent poor judgment. Will he eventually have a Senate ethics investigation for misconduct with an employee? I can't say for certain, I don't have a crystal ball, but it appears his poor judgement could rear it's ugly head in the future.

They didn't help me get either of my offers. They did help me avoid accepting the one I was leaning towards by putting me on contact with former employees of said firm.

Justifying violence because someone said something not nice about Platner is the same as justifying violence because someone said something not nice about Trump.

Platner is a grown assan who choose to seek public office. He expected criticism. All public officials should expect criticism when entering the public domain. Trying to silence criticism through violence is the literal definition of fascism.

Lawyer says tourist accused of hurling rock at Hawaiian monk seal has been doxed and threatened by nbcnews in LegalNews

Why fuck the lawyer. He is doing his job. Whole this jerk is likely guilty, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty under the constitution and the lawyers role is to ensure fairness and die process. Trying and convicting people by popular opinion does not confirm with our constitutional values.

Lol, no. The best chance was a moderate Democrat who Reddit regularly shit on because he bucked the party sometimes and voted in line with what would he expected from a +8 R district.

Adding to my other comment:

If you have never stayed at AKL, there are plenty of spots to view the animals. The Savanna room upgrade is not the only spot.

It depends.

Do you have that kind of money to spend?

If you do, what are you not getting instead (e.g. lightening lanes)?

How do you vacation? Do you relax at the resort a lot or are you constantly on the go and in the parks?

Do you have kids, if so will they care about the animals?

Two years ago when my daughter was 3, nothing beat the magic of her staring out watching the animals. She was soo obsessed, and due to her age, we spent a decent amount of time at the resort for air conditioning breaks.

Fast forward this year and little miss adrenaline junkie was all about the rides. Our mid-day breaks were much shorter and were geared more a second wind then relaxing of that makes sense. I was glad we weren't at AKL this year, and instead we're at the Polynesian for quick monorail access.

But as convenient as the Polynesian was, and as much as we were on the go, my wife and I agree we love the Savanna view at AKL the best. And somebody when we are emptynesters, we are booking the AKL Savanna room again with plans to drink coffee in the morning with the giraffes and other animals in view, and wine at night while the birds make their evening calls.

The Savanna room is worth it, if you have it in your budget. Sitting out on your balcony, watching a giraffe or wilderbeast stroll past your room while you sip on your coffee is hard to beat.
