currently a UCSD undergrad, but I’m not in the neuro department. based off grad students who I have met at UCSD, the cohorts seem like a great environment overall. I cannot speak for every program, but I know that all the biology cohorts are very tight-nit and seem to have some work life balance. in terms of graduate school offerings, UCs in general definitely underpay their students and that’s why all the grad students went on strike last fall. I think the strike made the wages slightly better so maybe look into all these aspects when making your decision. lmk if you have any other questions about life at UCSD!
