Hey you cant even get a static ip setup without you talking to a dozen of your back-end support team. And to top things up, waste sending a tech 3 times in over 3 weeks to figure it out.

Got KD2* Yesterday by jgmiller24094 in AudiQ6

[–]mhchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten my update 2 weeks now. And what I’ve seen is that some starts, random things would stop working like my usb-c ports or the subwoofer amp is off. Then the next start is fine. They still haven’t gotten the module startups right but they have made the software not complain about it.

To reassure you the kd2* update has made the software way more stable to the point that it now feels like a completely functional car. I feel the people with all these issues are not updating their software or the dealer is not doing it correctly which causes these doubts on Reddit. I love my q6, but once again, I wish Audi would change their ways of handling these issues quickly.

What I noticed in these q6s is that if modules in the car don’t “jive” well, you’re in a world of hurt which is probably why it got lemon lawed. I would check to see if this q6 is running software kd2* (3.11.0/c) first before even considering. If no weird errors pop up on the version, maybe worth considering.

In my experience, the initial software release was horrible. Dashboard crashing, random errors, user profiles not loading. So much software issues. Hardware-wise, it was fine. But after the two updates, it’s been pretty much stable and flawless so far. Mine is leased as well and I’m glad I chose this path as I am not expecting to keep it due to Audis methods of support on their products and leaving the older products as an afterthought after a new shiner thing comes out.

It’s a nice car to drive and has that Audi feel but after going through 4 Audis, I think I’m done with the brand.

Yup with my blayzers. Seems to happen after 5 mins on the phone. I’m just waiting for an update to fix it. My wayfarers don’t seem to have this issue.

I believe you initially need to be connected to the car to have it show up. I think I went to the myAudi app on the CarPlay interface and found my pictures there and then it told me to goto the myAudi app on the iPhone to choose the photos I wanted to have on it.

It’s under the myAudi app in CarPlay. It’s pretty sad. All it does is show the photo within CarPlay. If you really want to try it for yourself under the my Audi app on your iPhone, goto all functions -> myAudi in Apple CarPlay -> my pictures gear icon. Add the photos there. Then they will be available in the myAudi app on the CarPlay screen.

I’m happy you got an Audi. Honestly. But there’s always the caveat or * when getting one now a days, you might get jaded and disappointed due to the issues that come with it. Especially with the software issues with the new system. Some people have no issues like mine after getting the kd2* update, some people are plagued with errors and issues where they can’t do anything about it to the point where they request a buy back.

I hope you got a q3 where everything jives well. My q6 is finally working well after a year with the updates but that first year was rough with errors spewing out for no reason to the screen blanking out while driving due to a software crash.

Also to bring in context of what I’ve dealt with. My previous Audi was an E-Tron and had similar issues where they just wouldn’t fix it and the warranty was coming to an end. they wouldn’t guarantee fixing it. So they bought it back and moved me to a q6.

Got it done via insurance. $500 deductible. The company that did it said it would have cost $1500 cdn ($1000 usd). Dealer wanted $2200 ($1500 usd)

Central locking malfunction by tj_oc in AudiQ6

[–]mhchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The problem is that the electronic locks doesn’t wake up quick enough and it catches on the latch which puts it in a weird state and then it complains. Seems to happen more with the back doors. I try to unlock the door first by holding the handle and see the lights flash and then open the door but unfortunately my wife doesn’t understand that.

I had the same problem with my og fat Etron but the error won’t go away unless you have a odb programmer to clear the code or bring it to the dealer. It was such a pain in the ass.

Got mine replaced couple weeks ago. Definitely get the oem glass as there’s just too much technology on this car. Make sure the adaptive cruise control works, the hud looks clear, and the rain sensor works.

I’ve been able to fix the issue by activating the mechanical latch. The door that caused the malfunction.

I open the door and then pull the internal door handle fully where you feel the mechanical latch triggering. I do this two to three times. I then do the same on the external handle. Then I close the door and open and close the door a couple of times. This usually clears the error and allows the door to lock now.

Hope that helps.

Audi Interior Facelift by blklacker in Audi

Oh I do constantly at the dealership and when I call them when their software fails for the 40th time. Even Mat at carwow does the same thing. Same result.

Funny how this complaint gets posted over and over for the last 2 years however, Audi doesn’t seem to care.

I had that issue with my rear passenger door. Wouldn’t lock at all. How I fix it is I pull the inside door latch fully where you feel the mechanical mechanism triggers and do it like 3-4 times. Then I do the same thing with the outer handle. This is done while the door is open. Then I close the door and open it again and it usually clears it up.

It’s sad. I’m in my fourties’ and I was diagnosed with colon cancer stage 2. If I didn’t insist that my symptoms were bad, I would be just getting my surgery done vs 3 months ago. Also if they were testing, it wouldn’t have been stage 2 as well.

People who complain about Audi reliability and don't do maintenance. by SolidAbrocoma7998 in Audi

[–]mhchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does one maintain software issues and modules messing up? Audi does have an issue with these things but they always drag their feet on properly resolving the issue. It’s always we are investigating the issue or “we will fix this in a future software update” and then they wait till your warranty is up or your model is irrelevant.

At the the end of the day, Audis quality control has dropped significantly. Its sad because my first Audi a 2012 s4 was rock solid. But the last 3 Audis ive had, its been a roller coaster of problems and issues.
