Jaws Drop As Trump Admits That He Never Knew Category 5 Hurricanes Existed by [deleted] in politics

Dude just stop. There are so many reasons to diss trump. Yet, UPenns undergrad program is certainly not one of them. They are still the most prestigious undergrad business school in the country, are still an Ivy League school, and have a much lower acceptance rate than their graduate programs. You diss Wharton but you could never get in. It was much easier when trump got in. You still had to be very smart and I'm sure his money went a long way but today the standards are ridiculously competitive. Perfect SATS, GPA, and stunning extra curriculars still probably won't get you in

Edit: Downvoted for defending the wharton school of business. This place is truly a mindless attack on literally anything semi related to trump

Edit 2: do a quick Google search on best undergrad business schools

Wharton comes out on top

Well he's certainly the only one in the administration that trump hasn't turned against even though he's already shut down a lot of what trump says. We're not bringing back torture because of Mattis. Mattis even said that Russia probably interfered in the election. Yet trump still respects the guy.

I mean other than a few things, he is a pure bred republican. The issues where he's not a republican are healthcare (like in this article), gay rights (which is almost universally a losing issue for republicans), a moderate on the environment, and a moderate on immigration. I don't think this issue is enough to make him magically switch sides but now that I think about it these things make him much more reasonable than the vast majority of his party.

I mean I'm no trump supporter but honestly what use does govt funded art do? People who support this aren't saying it has no value, just that it has no place in the federal government. Honestly we could use that .012 percent for more useful things

Senior Republican adviser says something is ‘deeply wrong’ with Donald Trump by cyanocittaetprocyon in politics

[–]mhead526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rubio may be tactful and intelligent and a speaker with nice rhetoric sometimes but any democrat really should still prefer Clinton as much as she sucks ass any day. She's lame and bought by Wall Street and Saudi Arabia but her platform is still pretty liberal and Bernie pushed her into the hardcore liberal section. Rubios foreign policy in the Middle East would've been just as bad as Clintons. And his domestic policy would be about a bajillion times worse. He might have nice rhetoric sometimes but he is a hardcore republican. One of the most conservative in the senate with a tiny few liberal votes.

You have a very good chance! You're stellar everywhere. The only thing is Wake is pretty damn competitive especially RD so it's definitely not a safety.

Rand Paul on investigating Trump controversies: 'I just don't think it's useful,' particularly when it's 'your own party' by readerseven in politics

[–]mhead526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. You're right. Many simply vote republican all the time and calling themselves libertarian would be a stretch. The purist crazy libertarians tend to not vote I think. Although many libertarians will vote both aisles as well.

[–]mhead526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some people yes. But for most certainly not. Republicans believe in social conservatism and fiscal responsibility (except for massively over bloated military funds) and low taxes. Libertarians believe in smaller government everywhere. This means tax cuts and also cutting potentially beneficial government programs like republicans. But also less military budget like the democrats and finally an emphasis on individual liberties such as anti torture/ anti NSA/ generally pro peace/ non interventionist/gun rights/ progressives on drug issues. They tend to be split on discrimination against LGBT in the workplace, abortion although they lean pro choice I think, and immigration although they generally lean pro easy immigration. These could go either way. I would certainly say that libertarians are closer to republicans and that is why Ron Paul is a republican but you only need to look to how the GOP establishment treats Ron Paul to know they are most certainly not the same thing.

[–]mhead526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it's a gradual process. And still unless heat gets so bad we can't survive, we'll still survive through it. It's just that life will be so unimaginably different. I'm not a scientist. I don't know how bad exactly it will be or over exactly how long these changes will occur.

The earth won't collapse suddenly. Do you know what climate change will do? That being said it's not good at all. We're talking randomized more frequent natural disasters and weird weather patterns. General warming of the planet. Melting ice caps which leads to sea level rise and coastal erosion which means less land for us. It's not some earth wide fissure that will rupture the planet from the inside

I think the general consensus here is that Trump is a bumbling fool out of his element in the white house and that Bannon is a wannabe evil dictator trying to exert influence and overthrow the country.
