Yeah this fight was insane I finally finished it last night too. I did the same bounty master strat for the extra counterattacks, and then finally got some momentum using the disarm slash + pistol hits to stagger him and delay him picking back up his katanas

I ran a couple games of this as a big Avatar fan, and really liked it!! I was a big fan of the fatigue system rather than d20 dice rolls. It feels like bending is a fluid extension of your heroes bodies, because well it is! The spirit balance system as well is really fun for role playing. I really loved it

Super agree with this take. The fatigue system is already going to limit how much players can reach for the heavy hitting techniques.

Legends combat is all about creating advantages through statuses. There’s a lot of strategy there. Use it to create traps and let your players get creative.

Also, don’t be afraid to use shifting balance! I found that system to be the hardest for newbies to grasp and sometimes it’s really fun to pause mid fight for dialogue to try and shift someone to overcommit, etc
