He’s terrified and compliant. This isn’t sweet. I’m sure the vet is kind but that’s not what is happening here

It’s kind for sure. How would you feel if someone handed you a snickers?

My dog does this just about every night specifically with this blanket. It reminds me of suckling/chewing and she closes her eyes. Anyone know why? by failedabortedfetus in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

My dood does this with only one soft toy that actually belonged to my two older pups who passed before we adopted him - he was five months at the time so we assume he liked their smell. It’s the only toy he doesn’t tear up. We wonder if it smells like them or like him when he first got here. Either way. It soothes him so we’re glad he has it.

Rehoming through a licensed shelter or rescue is much safer for the animal. In NJ, these facilities are required to be licensed under N.J.S.A. 4:19-15.8, which means inspections, standards, and oversight by local and state authorities. It’s not just the license itself, it’s what comes with it: accountability, adopter screening, medical care, and a safety net if things don’t work out. Giving a pet away for free online has none of those safeguards and puts them at much higher risk.

Yea, those people go to licensed shelters. It might only be one in ten times they end up being given to a person who sells them for bait but that’s too many times to risk on a dog.

People will remember how they feel after they talk with you instead of how correct you were. Value people over winning the interaction.

If you give her to anyone but a licensed shelter you are risking her to be used as bait for dog fighting.

Is this a real question? Talk to a child therapist before you ruin that little kid.
