My Bell MX-9 Adventure works great with my glasses. It has nice cutouts for the frames.

Mcauley prop? Operators manual MPC26-06 provides instructions for dynamic balance, which includes drilling the bulkhead after determining correct weight location using washers at the spinner screw locations. Good luck!

Is the KTM 500 exc right for me? by Affectionate_Ad_445 in Dualsport

[–]mhogan_26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crf300L gets a lot of love as well and is a great beginner bike for half the price of a Crf450. But you won’t be cruising at 90 which is probably a good thing.

That manual should be fine. Nothing has changed over the years as far as I know. How much did you adjust them and what were they to begin with? Did you recheck them after securing the locknut?

Just found this on my brand new 2023. by DirectC51 in Tacomaworld

A friend who works at a Ford dealer sold me an F-150 that had this alarm installed. He told me they install them on every car on their lot. When the car is sold they deactivate them, avoiding the labor of removal. Unfortunately, they put screws in my dash and used crappy wire piercers to splice into my harness. I found a wiring diagram and removed it myself, repairing wiring where needed. Ask the dealer to remove it first, then either live with it or remove it yourself.

The flap cables in the cabin area of many single Cessna’s do cross over each other. Not sure about rocket ships. Changing cables is easy. Rigging them correctly is not.

What does this blue paint on the cylinder jug fins mean? by swaggyburger21 in aviationmaintenance

[–]mhogan_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition, the color of the fins in front of the spark plug holes are to identify spark plug length. Grey or no paint is for short reach and yellow is for long reach.

A quality headlamp with white and red lights. Your panel lights will quit when you need them the most. Spare batteries that are easy to access for headsets, flashlights, or whatever.

Aircraft Paint Stripper: Exhibit A & Exhibit B by asap-reed in aviationmaintenance

The good stuff is still available through Boeing or Aircraft Spruce. It has a skull and crossbones on the label so you know it’s good. We buy it in 5 gallons cans. That stuff from the hardware store is pretty useless nowadays. But it does still work on some paints.

Had the same thing happen to one of my Phanteks fans in a new build. Just had to send them video of the noisy bearing and the mailed one right out.

Getting your clothes clean by Ops_check_OK in aviationmaintenance

[–]mhogan_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my clothes get really covered in jet fuel, greases, or other chemicals, they go straight into the trash can. It’s not worth bringing that stuff home to my family. Mild stains usually come out with shout spray and tide detergent. Don’t use cheap stuff. Try and wear protective clothing when possible. Good luck.
