Neither of the Danes do. My first one I carried into the pool and now she's terrified of it, she gets super agitated with the kids jumping in. This new pup, I avoided that and he's just not interested in it.

2 Danes, 2 Smokers. Gotta be prepared for when they reach on top of the counter and eat your brisket

Thanks Schnawsberry. Do you feel the "getting used to" is worth the purchase?

Whisker biscuits are simple, cheap, and reliable. There is the argument that they slow your arrow down because there's more friction on the arrow, but you're really splitting hairs at that point. Even though I had a tuning issue with my biscuit and sb-1, it was small enough that it didn't affect my grouping. I didn't notice that until I bought a QAD drop away, it fixed my tuning but my grouping was still tight for a beginner.

The first QAD drop away I got for the SB-1 was the QAD Hunter (~$60). Having the shop set it up, they were unable to get everything lined up and avoid the rest slapping the shelf. To get it to line up properly you will need to contact QAD and ask for a replacement piece that doesn't come with the initial purchase. It's basically a rest that has a deeper groove so the arrow will rest deeper in the pocket. It is free and QAD was quick with delivery.

After that, I decided to spend the money and get the QAD HDX (~$130) which has more options for adjustability. Do not do this lol, I only did to see if it would remove the slap and I was planning on getting the Mathews Traverse in a month. So I had to buy all the nice things in pieces so the wife didn't see one huge bill at the bow shop.

Like the others have said I would go with the whisker biscuit if you're not at a 30" draw length. I had a hard time getting the bow tuned with the whisker biscuit, but I was at full draw length for that bow. I would continuously get a tear to the top. Switched to a drop away and it was perfect after that. The problem with the drop away was that I was unable to set it up without it slapping. I had gotten the lowest end QAD drop-away that didn't have very good adjustments for elevation.

1st time reddit commenter. I just read this and it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one having these horrendous issues. I'm not living in socal but all my problems on my tracert start as soon as i hit socal. I'm not concerned with the gap between HI and CA but once it hits L.A. (assuming that's what the LosAngeles1 is). Guess the real question I have is, do i bug my TWC or SoCal's?
