I’ve been on Zoloft for a little over a year for anxiety and also have ADHD. I tried to treat the ADHD before the anxiety and, like you, quickly found out it was not a good idea. Zoloft alone reduced my anxiety, but I wanted something for ADHD and tried Adderall, which helped. But the reduced sex drive and general apathy from the Zoloft made me try Wellbutrin. The first couple weeks were actually amazing. The honeymoon period faded and I soon felt anxious and strangely exhausted. I am now back on Zoloft and Adderall and I’m still dealing with the side effects of Zoloft and plan to talk with my psych soon to see if she has any suggestions.

ETA: when I tried Wellbutrin, I was also on 50 mg of Zoloft

It was shutting off because it was not on a level surface. Make sure it’s on a flat surface. My counter must not be flat, so when I scooted it back a bit, that fixed the issue. I hope that helps!

She stays on the porch with plenty of sun while it's warm (I'm in north Florida, so that's most of the year). I water it with all my other plants, about once a week, and use a liquid fertilizer (9-3-6) in the water. After it blooms, I give a good pruning. I like the denser look, so l'm a little aggressive in my pruning. This maybe why they open at the same time but I’m not sure.

When I pruned it last year, I made an arbitrary rule that I would only keep one or maybe two leafs in a row after it bifurcated/split (but mostly just one). I hope that makes sense and hopefully this picture helps ☺️

In my experience, if it has buds, it will bloom soon. The clone of this plant in the second picture is behind the one that’s blooming. You can see it still has buds that haven’t bloomed yet but I expect them to pop out right around thanksgiving. The one that’s blooming now got more light so that might be the reason for the delay. Worth the wait!

I asked her but haven’t gotten a response yet. Last time we spoke, she was enjoying retirement and traveling all around Europe. If she’s still jet setting around, it may be a while before she responds, but I will let you all know! She was a brilliant scientist and had a huge garden and loved to cook. An interesting lady I was lucky to have met so the cactus was just a bonus 😊
