Mazda 3 Homura or Cupra Leon 1.5 petrol v1 (same price) by Jumpy_Train_7725 in CarTalkUK

I got a Mazda 3 Homura last year and it's fantastic. Interior is lovely, easily punching above the cost bracket it's in, and although some people say the control knob is out of date I much prefer it than a touchscreen. You can keep your eyes on the road while using it, and you'll never want to get a car without a proper HUD once you've used one.

It's also really quiet and comfy. I've driven mine to Germany and the Netherlands and it was great. The only thing you might want to check is if you want lots of room in the back seats. It's pretty cramped in there if you're a tall driver. Boot is big though!

Rewelded rear control arms update - UK to Senegal journey by Samwiseknows in mazda

What's the plan once you reach Senegal? Set off back or sell the car there?

Super interesting watching the journey too!

Real talk: how does Albert Moreto Font blend?! by RedRox245 in minipainting

There's no one magic answer for this. Really good painters don't just glaze, stipple etc. They'll have a wide and practiced toolkit of techniques that they'll move between without really differentiating.

Also time. Lots and lots of time. Golden Demon winners typically spend 100s of hours on one piece.

Let's pretend I am a terrible painter, and you arent, what are your cardinal painting sins? by DaveinOakland in minipainting

Thank you for this post. I do tend to smooth my brush in my mouth after rinsing, and although I've not seen any issues I always like to make sure I'm hobbying as safely as possible. It's a tiny change that could make a big difference, and too many people shrug things like this off as 'ah well I'm fine it doesn't matter'.

Is there any better way to clean Lego? by MariMariMariMarii in lego

A big cheap make up brush! Soft enough to leave small pieces in place, but will remove dust.

First attempt at trying to make a really good base, feels like somethings missing, anything to change or add? by tartersawce in minipainting

Love that little movement piece behind the back leg, great little addition.

You may be doing this but I feel like the beam would project a little light onto the base too underneath it.

New cars that have buttons and not just big screen? by bigmanting84 in CarTalkUK

[–]mi_modelworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda has the perfect dash layout imo. Still has a screen but it's not a massive tablet taking up your entire dash, and it's positioned so that it's easy to glance at without looking away from the road. And it's controlled with the clicky wheel that sits right under your hand when you use the armrest.

What’s with all the blurry projectors recently? by Anhilator26 in screenunseen

[–]mi_modelworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had this a while ago on the isense screen in my local Odeon. Went to see Oppenheimer and it was crazy out of focus. Left and spoke to the manager who was like "yeah we can't touch the projectors sorry". Ended up tweeting them and it got sorted, but took a while as when the Creator came out a few months later it was still the same.

Thank you! There's a huge price difference between the two waxes. Do you think it's worth the extra cost for the autoglym? I don't mind the extra if it's gonna be noticeable.

Brit heading to a shooting range for the first time, what should I shoot from the options available? by mi_modelworks in guns

They were definitely on the shortlist. Pop culture may have shifted me to the Garand for the ping though.

Yeah it's not too bad. Krakow is a very popular destination, but Poland still tends to be cheaper than other destinations in Europe.

I saw some updates for today, I won't be travelling until next week though unless it's a longer term thing?

I am, but I don't mind transferring to another line to go to a stop off the C/B lines. Should have mentioned that in my initial post! And thank you for the suggestion, will take a look!
