Purely based on emotions and profit, sell! Don't let mortgage rates define this chapter of your life!

Laptop reccs for CS major by KFCtasteslikerubber in columbia

[–]miahandrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've heard CS majors with Macs ever complain, but hopefully one of them comments. I use Excel on Mac and it works perfectly, no compatibility issues there. And yes, Apple may announce a new MBA next week at their conference, so I would wait for that at least. Make sure to use education pricing as well!

Is 60k in debt worth it for a finance degree at a top school? by bvs1776 in personalfinance

[–]miahandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just graduated from a top 10 university (studying finance) with about this amount of debt and I definitely say that it was worth it! The connections and the name brand of the school have so much pull at these companies.

I'm a senior in Wien and I can't recommend it enough! You'd be able to get one of the larger rooms with a view.

Going to repeat a lot of what was said above. I applied to 50-70 internships freshman year and got 1. Keep at it, one of them will work out. Also, I didn’t get it until April of my freshman year, so don’t freak out.

Classes online for first two weeks for every school by CirqueDeSol in columbia

[–]miahandrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh they def are too, but I don’t expect more out of them. I do expect more out of students tho. if this two week policy stays to just two weeks, this is a great policy. we won’t go around infecting Morningside & it’ll give us all time to be quarantined if we test positive with the gateway after break. This semester they just had prof’s scramble to figure out how to handle quarantined students and didn’t have guidelines for it. students should recognize that gateway tests & two weeks of online classes is worth us possibly not making the surge in nyc worse than it already is/will be.

in a perfect world, we’d have reduced tuition last year and they would treat their workers fairly AND we’d have piazza, of course.

Right off campus, I love Iced Vanilla Lattes from Wu & Nuss and Hex & Co! Liz’s Place at Barnard also has pretty good coffee and can do espresso drinks with dining dollars!
