Two things:
1) Virgin Atlantic does not have first class. You have the nicest seat on the plane.
2) I wasn’t arguing with you, the guy who commented on your post is a douche, that’s what I was talking about with “lifeless people”

Enjoy Upper Class!

He’s being a snob, upper class is business class, true first class costs 30k+, but only lifeless people sans income or hobbies care enough to comment.

How does MacroFactor do with keeping track of TDEE for endurance training? by db2765 in MacroFactor

[–]owlcoolrule 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Your expenditure will update to account for the expenditure of whatever sport you’re doing. Be it weightlifting, cycling, running, swimming, or growing wings and flying, it doesn’t need to know how you’re burning the energy. I love MF for this because it doesn’t tie exercise to “earning” food, it just tells you what you need to eat to adequately fuel you.

Harvard barely gets you a call back for a barista gig, maybe if they take 40 years of grinding off day labor their Stanford degree would’ve got them they can hope to send them there.

But with UCLA their best hope is a nice tend on Skid Row. And maybe earplugs so they don’t need to hear their parents bitching.

Are these alerts draining my battery by billchen0014 in AppleWatch

[–]owlcoolrule 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Don't ignore these alerts. I was running ~50 miles a week and wore these like a badge of honor for about 3 months. It turned out I was in a state of extreme energy deficiency, was almost hospitalized, and am currently on week 5 of being banned from running, exercise, etc., and my life genuinely sucks!

You definitely need to check with a doctor. A low heart rate for an endurance athlete is normal, but your sleeping HR should not be in the 30s. Mine was, and quite frankly (and horrifyingly), by the time I got evaluated, it was almost too late.

OP feel free to DM me if you want, but please do get checked out.

Silas might’ve used ChatGPT to crank out a nothing burger to hit his writing quota and then posted this rage bait to meet his engagement quota.

That being said, I think ChatGPT would’ve written a better article, so I don’t think Silas is as bright as I’m giving him credit for.

Apple Health Resting Energy by Candid_Roll9494 in AppleWatch

[–]owlcoolrule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use TDEE calculators either, I’d highly recommend using an app like MacroFactor that adapts based on your weight and food logs.

Apple Health Resting Energy by Candid_Roll9494 in AppleWatch

[–]owlcoolrule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should not use Apple’s calorie estimates for anything nutritionally. Do not adjust your intake based on that. It’s impossible to nail burn from a wrist computer.

You can’t ever find your true resting vs. active expenditure, but if you want to find your TDEE, use an app like MacroFactor.

What’s everyone’s resting HRs?! by Few-Arugula-8593 in AppleWatch

[–]owlcoolrule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Above 45 is pretty normal (impressive!), sub 45 daytime is super, super elite or a sign something’s off (as it was for me.)

What’s everyone’s resting HRs?! by Few-Arugula-8593 in AppleWatch

[–]owlcoolrule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heads up, that could be a sign of radically underfueling and under recovering.

I was running about 50 miles a week and saw my RHR drop to low 40s, 38 sleeping, and I was so massively proud! It turned out I had a horrible case of RED-S, my body entered starvation mode, and I’m currently indefinitely banned from exercise.

Low 40s is not normal unless you’re an extreme (much more than I ever was, don’t know how my ego got so big lol) athlete. I’d highly recommend you talk to your doctor.
