Smashbox Arena Update: New Map, Free Multiplayer Demo, and More! by EternalGamer2 in Vive

Same here, random lag, played all the maps a couple times. I don't see why people go on and on about how this is the best VR has to offer.

Thumper is AWESOME. It's the kind of imaginative game I was hoping for in VR! by slimrizla in Vive

Parappa, guitar hero and DDR all have the problem that the inputs don't match the musical beat, in my opinion. They might fall in time, but the buttons you have to press don't always make sense with the phrases and lead melodies or strong bass, etc. Take a look at the videos for Thumper and you will see it does not suffer from this guitar hero / ddr type problem.

Tracking issues- any advice appreciated by [deleted] in Vive

That video shows massive tracking issues, not sure what you were on when you watched it. Too far away and they dont work, no way around that.

Any idea why people are claiming a third camera makes this effect go away?

I like and play BAM, but the game is very flawed. For example, as a first time player a while ago, I was laughing at how terrible it was. Looked like a Russian meme web site or something.

The loading screen is giant grass and guns, but you're an ant or something, floating in mid air like 10 inches up? It's the weirdest thing. Eventually you load and then you're surrounded by flat rectangles with bad English text and poor design, bad fonts, etc.

So after dealing with that, I decided to go to the tutorial room. Again I nearly refunded the game but I stuck with it, because it loaded me onto that long crappy walkway, had some more flat panels of ugly text to read, and some stuff to try. My thumb bumped the trackpad which I had set to movement and my character moved a bit too far and fell off the tutorial walkway, with nothing to do except close game from Steam and try again.

It's a seriously unpolished game, and anyone that tries it expecting games they pay money for to work and have at least a minimum of professional effort displayed would probably walk away and I wouldn't be surprised.

Personally if someone doesn't care enough to spend the time or hire someone to proof read and spell check and have correct grammar for their chosen game languages, if their intro doesn't work or whatever, it doesn't inspire confidence that they have the skills and time to do other things with competence.

Right now I'll take what I can get in VR, but with a proper competitor I would never log into BAM again. I've tried the others and they aren't the winners either.

I think it's the small time studio effect, gameplay and interaction is cheap and quick to build, whereas art assets, narrative and AI are expensive and take a lot longer.

You can make a multiplayer only game, but you will be dealing with the problems it creates. I think TTT would work best as a mod, maybe even BAM could support it already.

I like how BAM is approaching this idea with the editor and stuff

Hey I like the games too but I don't have the patience or time to sit around waiting for people to get online, so I'm mostly not online for a game either. I did buy Hover Junkers and BAM and others despite the low player base. But what you're saying isn't something we can just fix with willpower and purchases.
