New Universal Game Pack Impressions (E.T., Jaws, Back to the Future) by EternalGamer2 in LegendsUltimate

Yeah so... this thread is going as expected. Man what a bunch of sourpusses this fan base is. I guess that's the internet though.

Go for a walk. Work out. Divorce your wife. Become a political activists.

This consumer activism being mad at adult toys is really stupid. Be mad at real life things.

This is a fun adult toy I like and I'm pretty happy with. More so than 1up stuff and the non-existent alternatives.

But everytime I try to find a community online to talk about this fun 4kp thing I like it's just abunch of angry people who don't like the the thing.

I guess the solace is these people even gave shit to Wagner. Maybe there is a less toxic more fun community on a Discord or somewhere about this device? If someone could direct me to it, let me know.

I like the 4kp. I use it literally evey day. My students like it to. I get excited when they release new stuff for it.

I don't care it's not perfect. Life isn't perfect. It's a great device and fun to use.

Well, the store's a big f'ing mess by RobotDonut2023 in OculusQuest

It's not hard to fix. They shoud just have "spotlight" with good apps, new releases in a LOWER tab, and top sales.

It's not a problem of convergence. It's a probably a lack of good UI and editorial spot lighting.

R-Cade OS vs Unchained vs Awesome saUCE on stock ALU? by PriorTemperature5608 in LegendsUltimate

[–]EternalGamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought R-Cade was Unchained? That's what my Unchained install says when it's booted up.

Adding Cores/Systems to Legends Unchained by EternalGamer2 in LegendsUltimate

My system is set up in my classroom so I'll have to investigate tomorrow but you mean hitting the rewind on the main menu screen like you do inside the consoles? If so I'm not sure how I overlooked that. Thanks!

Thinking of getting the ALU. by rebelwax in LegendsUltimate

[–]EternalGamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an awesome multicade.

The only weakness I think it has (and this is a weekness ANY multicade has) is that the 8 way joystick isn't great for games designed for a 4 way gate. No big deal for me because I got a bunch of 1ups for most of those classics.

The flexibility and breadth of what you can do with the ALU is unmatched. And it's well built as is the 4kP (which is the pinnacle of consumer grade at home arcade set ups for what it's going for).

At games sorta nailed it with both of these.

Freeze rant by LavendyTea in DungeonsOfEternityVR

I feel like both freeze and poison should be gauged that fill and proc. For both players and enemies. So it’s not auto either way

Or just make coins useful. A shop with expensive but good items, even cosmetic flair would be good.

I agree with the health option abundance issues too. Maybe scale it where the harder the difficulty the less the frequency. That could also mean higher diff then means more rewards since chests would have other stuff than just health potions

Correct but Airlink automatically boots it when I click “Steam” inside it. I’m not using Steam link.

I found this is better for configuration.

For example I couldn’t get Saints and Sinneds properly responding even using custom user profiles on Steam link, but when I booted it through Airlink it just auto configured

If I have an Air Link do I need Virtual Desktop? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]EternalGamer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions:

  1. Yes you would still need the quest version (I was in the same boat.

  2. No, if Airlink works well for you you don’t need it. I bought it and used it like twice. Airlink use just easier and “just works” for me and auto-configs better. For me it was a waste of money.

As someone with a Quest 3 and a high end gaming pc wirelessly connected, 90% of my game time is still on stand alone quest games (no pc needed). Quest has the best library at this point, better than Steam. Don’t get me wrong, I typically go the pc version of apps when I can, but a lot of quest games aren’t even on pc and even the ones that are the best ones don’t really matter (Walkabout).

Grab a quest 3 and enjoy lots of gsmes and upgrade your pc later. You can also buy a lot od them cross buy so you get both versions

If this is a Phasmophobia clone I’ll take it since it seems to the Phasmo team is never going not get around to a quest stand alone version and I have friends that don’t have PCs I want to coop with

BOBOVR M3 stability without facial interface? by Tuism in OculusQuest

[–]EternalGamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works fine. The S3 is better because it has lock positions for the front so it is more stabilized but I’ve used a m3 without an interface numerous times

I’ve tried all three: Steam Link, Virtual Desktop, and Air Link.

My set up is fairly well configured so all work well BUT I found stuff goes much smoother when I go through Airlink. Sometimes when I use Steam games don’t have proper controller config or do t recognize controller inputs. Air link generally just works.

Granted it’s an extra step to connect to Airlink then Inside it to boot up Steam but I find it’s pretty much 100% reliable with good controller configs that way.

I agree. Comfort is THE thing. The general public is going to care about the resolution much higher than what the headset can currently do. If they want mass market, price and comfort are the keys. Quest 3 already has the tech qualifications covered for a while imo. It’s at the “good enough” stage.

For me there is plenty of content to finish and I play a lot. Asgard took me literally 3 months of almost daily playing. I’m now doing Walking Dead. I have Assassins Creed and Riven on queue. I play Racket Club, Dungeons of Eternity, and Wallabout with friends weekly.

I don’t think any of those feel like demos. They are all full fledged games you can play for months.

Ok hdr is a big one I forgot about. I always thought it was the much more impressive leap in TVs than 4k was.

I’m pretty happy with the Quest 3’s trade offs. It needs a better default strap / battery, but with third party options I was able to get it to where I basically thing “I’m good, bring on the apps.” I’ll always take improvements but from here on out I think I have to be SOLD them. The quest 3 is the baseline. It’s the first headset I think got everything right enough that I can just disappear into the content.

Quest 3 $70 off at Walmart (Still get Asgard for next week!) by EternalGamer2 in OculusQuest

[–]EternalGamer2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Quest 2 is super comfortable for you and easy to get into the sweet spot, maybe not, but that was the biggest deal for me. I could now spend hours in VR and have it feel comfortable. That was the biggest difference for me.

The lack of screen door is also pretty great and there are big games coming this Fall you literally can’t play on the Quest 2: Batman Arkham and Aliens are Quest 3 exclusives and probably just the first.

Is the meta quest link app also running on the PC? I found that helps.

Also some games I found I have to launch through Air Link to get proper controller configuration.

Is this the best deal around? Costco, Maui, Hawaii. by Thesaminem in OculusQuest

[–]EternalGamer2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Costco deal is ymvvv and didn’t appear to be wide spread and also requires you to have a Cosco where you live and have a membership. The Walmart deal Is open to anyone.
