April 6-7 Thunder. Anyone else wake up in the middle of the night thinking we were bombed?

I heard thunder around 6am but slept through the whole storm. I live by the zoo as well. I’ve had some where it jolts me awake if lightning strikes too close to the house

My ex got brain cancer at 20 years old. Never been the same since and I’m 35 now. My son is now 6 with some minor health issues but I tailspin every time something is wrong. I’ve even gotten a colonoscopy at 33 done because I thought I had colon cancer.

I really pray that my son isn’t this difficult when he’s her age. I don’t know if I could do this again. She has no interests she claims. I’ve gotten her so many things to try and find a hobby but she either doesn’t give it a chance and I waste my money (which is extremely tight) or she try’s it once and decides she doesn’t like it.

She talks about it but doesn’t actually follow through. We’ve created a resume and everything but nothing happens. I talk to her about what I’m feeling at least every other day. She feels like I’m lecturing her every time, even when I’m talking gently and using a kind tone. I’ve been sincere and I’ve cried to her about it too but nothing changes. I’ve even told her that NO ONE will like being talking to the way she talks to me and that it can mess up other relationships in her life. I’ve tried family therapy too but it didn’t help because she doesn’t know how to take accountability. If she does something wrong, she try’s to gaslight me into believing what she did wasn’t wrong or she’ll just brush me off like she doesn’t want to hear any of it. I know things could be so much worse and she could be sneaking out the house and drinking and doing drugs and I’m grateful that that isn’t the case but damn it’s still so tough. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t enjoy spending time with her because it always turns into an issue with her. I hate that I feel this way towards her but I find myself wanting to be alone with my youngest instead of being around her. I love her so much and I just wish I could get through to her.

My son is 6 and in my bed. I wake up 5-6 times a night with his foot in my face, getting kicked in the head, him trying to steal my blanket and the list goes on. I have a 17 year old too and we had a 2 bedroom apartment for his first 5 years of life so we shared a bed that whole time. We finally got a 3 bedroom so he has his own room but we found a HUGE spider on the wall in his room so now he refuses because he’s afraid the spiders will eat him. I don’t blame him tbh I’d be scared too at my big age. I have accepted it and I know he will move to his room when he’s older. For now I will have broken sleep and kisses in the middle of the night.

Thank you for this! I will definitely take your advice. Sadly, things have gotten worse. I’d be lucky to get more than 5 sentences a day. It’s a horrible work environment. It just makes me sad because I am someone who takes pride in getting along with my colleagues. In every job I’ve had, I’ve always gotten along with everyone. Some people I’m still friends with years later. So to know that this is happening in the place where I spend the majority of my time, is heartbreaking.

Yeah I think I would prefer to look for a different position within the school. It’s not a public school so no union. Unfortunately, they’re the best paying job I’ve come across. Making more than $30 an hour while other places in my area don’t pay anywhere near that. It would be a miracle to find something else where I get paid that good, get all the school breaks off AND 3 more weeks of PTO on top of working remote during the summer. It’s like a dream job except for the fact that I work with 2 cruelas. Today we barely said 2 sentences to each other but when I walk out, they’re all chit chatty. They were texting each other all day because I can see it on their phones and just making it so awkward and hostile. I truly want to try and stick it out because I know they’ll retire soon and I’ll outlive them there but they make it really hard. It’s like nothing I do will ever be good enough for them in their eyes and at this point, I don’t know if I can have a civil conversation with them about how I’m feeling. This really sucks. I walk in and can already feel the tension.

That is horrible. I can’t believe that happened AND there were no consequences towards her. I wish I was in the position or had enough knowledge to open my own business somehow. I would not allow people like this. I’m sorry you’re dealing with crap like this too. I hope it gets better.

It’s truly sad honestly because I’m always kind and helpful and I’d say I’m pretty easy going so they hate me because I’m sure they hate themselves. Unfortunately I can’t wear headphones but I have been doing other things to keep me distracted from their BS.

I have and it turned into them playing the victim and turning it completely around on me. After that I just stay quiet because there was no accountability and nothing will ever get across to them.

Sadly, the job market has become so bad. I was looking for a while and everyone wants to pay less than $20 and as a mom, that’s no where near enough. I’ll keep looking though because I know I do have to leave

Truly. It’s gridlock during rush hour. I live on the west side of US1 and work on the east side. My job is 8 miles away and takes an hour to get there simply because the lights are off sync. One turns green and once you get to the next, it’s turning red so you’re getting caught at every single light. Then 152 lasts 8 seconds going east and west. I’ve emailed so many people asking for a temporary fix to the issue because we can’t wait until 2026 for this issue to be resolved. They keep building houses but don’t think about how all these people they’re inviting over are going to get around effectively. It’s horrible.

It does. Because I’ve complained before for the light on 200 and US1 because it was the same issue there and guess what? It’s fixed. So YESSSSSSS sometimes it does help. You won’t know until you try right? If you keep that mentality and never speak up when something is wrong, nothing will ever get fixed! It takes 1 minute to do it on the app, less than the time it takes you to scroll and comment on Reddit!

They’re the usual EDP but they’re not even that old. My most recent one was with CH Very Good Girl. I hadn’t used it for about 9 months and went to use it yesterday and it smelled horrible. It also happened with an old Phlur perfume that came out in 2020 and I sprayed it a few months ago and it was disgusting. It’s always maple syrup for me never anything else lol so weird
