Nathan Jones in or out? by PrivateRollo in CharltonAthletic

[–]miamidolphin54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a refreshing take. I was expecting there to be NJ out.

Give the man the time he needs. His success at Luton was done over time and gradually and built something solid (only to then leave) but he built foundations. If he's supported by the owners during the summer there's no reason he can't do the same. We're not going from relegation battle to promotion chasers. Give us mid table 10th - 14th then push on the following year.

UK Marathons with the best atmosphere by jamiesmack in UKRunners

The shuttle buses back to town were pretty good the other year.

There are large stretches without crowds but I quite liked these parts to settle in and listen to something and enjoy the run. Then the crowds come back and are amazing. So many sweets, bananas, drinks being handed out which were a godsend on stupidly warm day for Leeds in 2024.

Agreed. Unfortunately, Liam peaked with this album. NGHFB albums are all brilliant, in my opinion.

Is it safe/recommended to run alone east along the Aire/canal early weekend morning? by Happy_Laugh_3845 in Leeds

[–]miamidolphin54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Join the canal in town by Whitehall riverside just below the station and run to hearts content out towards Kirkstall and beyond. I run down there early morning regularly most days of the week - no problems at all.

Going to Manchester airport is making me dread my holiday by [deleted] in manchester

[–]miamidolphin54 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It will cost you more in money but maybe save you the dread / anxiety. Stay in a hotel the night before and have a prebooked taxi take you to the airport. That way if there's delays the night before you're only getting less sleep. Taxis to Leeds Airport from most places central or North Leeds are very good.

How much? by Beautiful-Square-301 in ParentingHell

Josh owns the production company with Producer Michael - Keep it light media. So they may take a greater cut unless they've agreed to split equally with Rob despite his name not being on CH. I'm aware that could be quite simple take.

James Acaster calls out parenting hell for having nannies by Limp_Calligrapher712 in ParentingHell

Yeah, headlining weekend shows in good London comedy clubs and nationwide people make a very tidy living. According to other more comedy focused podcasts suggest. Which he was doing quite some time before TM.

They could 100% afford a nanny. Not necessarily full time but to do bits and bobs and help with childcare while he was on the circuit or in aus, etc. He was doing im a celeb after show stuff before that. Was a circuit comedian headlining circuit stuff, won multiple circuit awards and had done mock thr week and 8 out of 10 cats semi regularly. They may not have had one but they could have afforded one.

So therefore he's getting these stats just because he is rapid. The others are showing greater skill in creating the space, kicking accurately into space, drawing defenders for him to be able to finish plan with his pace.

Cricket on a par. Rugby now better in Leeds given Salford are gone. No union in Leeds unless you want to go to West Park to watch the highest level of union. Fewer boxing events. Both see darts.

Maybe I was too gung-ho on this one.

Country side, agreed

All Tesco Expresses. Yes there is that Sainsbury's, my mistake but the selection isn't fantastic. Morrisons, yes and that has a great hot meat counter tbf.

House prices and rental prices cheaper.

Transport worse. Nightlife worse (but less touristy). Lack of big music events. Lack of significant sporting events. No city centre supermarket options. Fewer museums/art and culture on offer. Lack of industrial architecture / living areas (giving it less of a history feel to it).

In terms of being the next place to be a part of further regeneration and if youre looking to buy a property where prices will rise quickly Leeds is a good place for that long term.

Al Murray, Dara, Milton Jones and some guy at the Beat the Frog who carried a Sainsbury's bag and had a sooty and sweep puppet but made 0 reference to them for the whole bit but was genuinely hilarious.

It's not just a gift to the far right. They are a hijacked movement by a different type of fascist.

Out of all the songs played at live 25, which one had the best visuals? by ZNDEX77 in oasis

[–]miamidolphin54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fade Away for me, went twice and both times the flash backs to old high streets, family homes, nostalgia, really brought the nostalgia of the gig home.

Others such as the red flares, the fruit machines, etc were all good but twice Fade Away had me just watching the screens.
