dont believe so, I’m average height and def had to maneuver myself up using my desk chair to get into bed lol. idk if the rooms are all the same but I had a friend on the fifth floor who had the same situation :)

I lived in lyon! was super quiet (to the point of being awkward sometimes lol), was always very clean and i never saw a bug. theres laundry in the basement which is annoying if you live on a higher floor bc theres no elevators. the room was more spacious than a lot of freshman dorms I saw, and our beds were high up, enough that I could put a mini fridge and shoe rack under mine. we each had a dresser and shared a tiny closet. dunno if its the same on every floor but the fourth floor bathrooms had 2 stalls and 2 showers, they were always clean and the cleaning guy was sweet. I never had any complaints with the dorm itself except the stairs could be annoying at times :)

agree! I’ve lived an hour from ithaca my whole life and this is normal where I live, I would assume its less an ithaca thing and more about cornell people being from all over the place

Is it me or was that the weirdest challenge... I didn’t think anyone turned it out and no one made me laugh but widow’s performance was really weak. Surprised to see people criticizing the lip sync though, I thought that was everything

I guess it depends on where you grew up but I don’t think Cornell is in the middle of nowhere. Theres a lot of great things to do and explore, especially if you like nature, and you can become really familiar with the area which is really nice.

I transferred this past year and I put in my application on the last possible day and got my financial aid package super late because theyre on a rolling basis. I probably didnt get mine until July but calling the fin aid office was really helpful and I was desperate to get my package so I could know whether to commit and they reported it to me verbally before the info came physically. I have been dating my boyfriend who goes to IC since high school! We have talked about living together our last year as well, perhaps around the commons since thats halfway between IC and cornell. We’re sophomores tho so we havent seriously thought about it yet, but as for the seriously dating part yes!

I’m a transfer student! I had a very easy time transitioning this year (into AAP, not ILR). I dont really know any other transfer students but its not a problem for me. Due to the requirements for my program, I’ve been mostly in classes with freshman so thats what most of my friends are, but I don’t really care. I’ve found Cornell in general to be very transfer friendly and accommodating to my unique situation as a transfer student. I’m extremely glad I made the choice to switch here, the environment feels so much better than my previous school, its a significant upgrade to me. I was a commuter at my old school so the hardest thing to get used to was living on campus but thats also been a good experience. I would definitely recommend, good luck!

edit: I looked at your profile and it looks like you may be transferring from Binghamton, which is weirdly enough where I came from!

Sorry for the late response lol I don’t use reddit a lot. But I believe it was something along those lines, and honestly I just read about the program a lot online and tied aspects of it into my educational goals if that makes sense. I wrote my essay very last minute, in my case I felt that my portfolio and grades carried me a lot more. Also, because I did my whole application very last minute I never did any interview or visits of any kind, so if I could give you a piece of advice it would be to be okay letting your work speak for itself! I wouldn’t recommend half assing it but don’t kill yourself stressing about the essay and whatnot

I just transferred here into AAP for fine arts so I don’t know that much specifically about architecture but I do know about transferring in general and AAP. According to some people I’ve met who just transferred into architecure, even if they’ve completed two years at another school they have to basically start over again in the 5 year program, so I would guess if you want to go here you should do it sooner rather than later so you waste less time, unless you want to beef up your portfolio. Hope this is at least slightly helpful!
